wonder if anyone on here has been flooded in Cheshire or elsewhere? People forced out of homes in a time of stay at home..maybe make people think what its been like for people without perfect home lives - funny what the forces of nature can do. yes im. including viruses in that. What covid laws would you break in time of emergency?

the Manchester authorities had to convince people to go to relatives houses apparently

I've taken the view all along that everything is risk/benefit. I follow and indeed exceed the law, I'm in a position to do so.

For those who can't afford to self isolate, they have different questions.

If I'd been forced to evacuate today I'd mask, try to distance, then do whatever I had to do. Greater need.

Covid regulations are not enforced during times of acute crisis. Never have been.

Emergencies take priority over lockdowns /guidance.

This. It's what's been happening here in GM with the flooding. They've made it clear that threat to life from flooding supercedes the Covid rules and they've been advising evacuations. Our son lives near the Irwell (but in a flat, so safe) and has told us it's over-topped the banks and covered the paths in the park etc.

of course rightly so... mother nature works in mysterious ways. Just maybe shows there are just as damaging issues than covid out there... i bet there are people who are so fearful of covid they'd think twice
