" Some great things that people are looking forward to doing both the big but all some of the little things we took for granted for so long. In fact this thread has been cathartic for me this evening so thank you to everyone who has posted so far. I can almost small the farmer markets one poster talked about and like another I cant wait to get back to swimming. I'm not religious at all but there's something to be said for spending time in the water, for me it cleanses the mind as well as the body. Some people mentioned hugging. I wasn't brought up with hugging and was your classic awkward hugger, i would have make Pete Capaldis Doctor look positively comfortable in comparison. Since meeting K though that has changed dramatically and like many I also miss hugging some of the people I care about. Thankfully my 2 month old son and wife give great hugs. My heart goes out to all those unable to do so atm x KJ " Hugging have been known to just hug some one cos they are having a bad day. But a cheeky bear on the way home. Theater Musicals from Kinky Boots to Phantom and all in between. Big hug to all out there.

"There is actually nothing that I miss - I moved into a new house in a new country shortly before the pandemic started. I worked around the world before and I was tiring of that anyway and was more than happy to stay and enjoy my new home and surroundings and cats, when they're not squabbling. I am looking forward to seeing some sports events and concerts and exploring further afield and learning to ski." Oh we moved house during the pandemic too, home schooling is a drag however I get free time when I go to work! Mrsikc

I think its oxytocin which can also be released from stroking our pets. I am pretty sure its what K says both parent and newborn baby get from skin to skin contact. KJ

"Freedom. And I don’t mean as in I feel my rights have been impinged unnecessarily. I mean I miss my freedom to just do spur of the moment stuff like hop a flight out for the weekend or go to London on the train for a wander I miss spontaneity. "

When the prospect of going to the supermarket is what gets you excited, you know something is wrong...

" I was thinking we need a positive / looking forward thread in the virus section. So my question is - What has covid really made you miss and want to do when it finally returns to some sort of normal? For me I have missed live music, gigs & concerts terribly. Once we are on the other side of covid i.e. hospitality is back in full flow, swinging clubs can operate normally I have decided to do the following. I am going to take different family members and friends to a gig / concert for an artist they really love. So far ill be taking K to see Suede (there's an April 21 gig right near her birthday but I'm worried it may be to soon?) I'm taking my mate Dan to see the libertines and friend James to see The Pixies. Also ill be taking K's step dad to see Iron Maiden as soon as the possibility arises. I've a few more folk to consider still. I guess life is about experiences, I love music and I think this is a good way to make new memories with some of the people I value in my life. If anyone else has any plans that they want to do post pandemic and is happy to share on this thread please feel free to share " Live music for me too and meeting the friends I’ve made from all over the country from it. And hopefully there’ll be a Maiden tour soon..
