Therefore, staggered, responding to reductions in cases & deaths must mean reductions in lockdown measures graded reductions, if all vulnerable are safe by mid February?

All vulnerable are safe: the reason lockdown measures were introduced in March/April.

I would actually agree with this.

I've been saying for a while that by the time we come out of the current lockdown we should be looking at around 15 million vaccines including the majority or of the first 4 priority groups.

Once we have done the 1st phase which is all the high risk, Extreme risk, Moderate risk, healthcare staff and those over 50 I believe We will almost be in a position to start returning things to as normal as possible because getting covid isn't an issue but getting very sick with Covid is.

There is roughly 15 millon people in those groups.

That means we would have to vaccinate nearly 11 million people in 4 weeks.

I think Aug/September 2021 mass covid-19 vaccination won't be far off that number with all the sites they can make available to administer it and they have the time to make the vaccine in huge quantities from now to then

Plus, in order for it to actually work, they need to be fully vaccinated. This means two jabs, not the one the government is counting

It's a really good start I hope to take off is high. It's really an ease about the ubers because I could totally understand somebody in those groups not wanting to use the tube or Buses.

It's a really good start I hope to take off is high. It's really an ease about the ubers because I could totally understand somebody in those groups not wanting to use the tube or Buses."

Here is hoping, although I know there are some major campaigns going on in some boroughs as too many are refusing to have the vaccine, over 50% in one. So they are trying to dispel any of the fears, myths they might have caught on news/social media etc

It is. Search Uber free ride and you’ll find their website and the relevant codes and how it works

Uber gets a bad reputation but actually they've been really good during the pandemic.

They have been offering free rides to NSH staff and offering discounts to those in the high risk groups.

Different practices and trusts will be on different groups.

So if one practice has less over 80s they’ll move onto their over 70s where as another practice could well still be behind on over 80s.

All acute staff have been and are being offered vaccines no matter their NHS role now.

Hopefully there’s still lots of uptake and things seem to be moving rapidly in my area which is fantastic x

They are still doing the over 80's however a lot of those would struggle to get to the mass vaccination centres.

If there is enough supply of vaccine and enough staff to administer it I think as many groups they can get done at the same time is a great thing.

I have just seen on the BBC website that they are hoping to have offered the vaccine to everybody in the priority categories by the end of April.

Thats about 30 million people!

That means if all goes to plan and the take up is high then about half the adult population would have had at least the first vaccine.

This is promising and hopefully means a more "normal" summer.

They have always said offered because you cannot guarantee everyone will it accept the offer all can have it because of pregnancy or allergies or another clinical reason.

They couldn't count on quite so many no shows especially in the London boroughs where I saw today some figures for one vaccination centre at 16 out of 60 per hour no show.

This is why in London they are opening up the super centres such as the exel centre and as long as you are in the current group being vaccinated (at the moment that's over 70's, medical or social care staff and those who where sent a shielding letter)

you can just turn up.
