Playing golf banned, fishing for competitions banned, so quite a few men have worn lycra and wondered off in the midday rain ...

Many are using footpaths/pavements, obviously illegal but haven't seen plod stop any, never mind tell them off. Afterall how can you socially distance?

Same thing on canal tow paths, lucky if one is more then 3 foot wide, same thing applies?

Speak softly and carry a stick... If they get too close ram said stick into spokes... And speak softly.. "now you're 2m away" as their lycra clad arses are on the path.

More cyclists may be the way forward as long as they don't cycle on the pavement and put pedestrians at risk so I'm guessing that's why hes bothered as am I.

Hang on a minute he has got a valid point if people are cycling on a footpath that they shouldn't be why shouldn't he have a moan about it.

People need to just stick to the rules and not tell people to not be upset about something.

If there were more cyclists there would fewer people in the at risk groups.

Next time you might like to thank the cyclist for ensuring he won't be occupying an icu bed, making space for all the lard arses.

Cycling on pavenments is the only real wrong in my mind and the only one that is blanket illegal. That said I can't recall seeing many adults cycling on the pavement recently. All the others and the roads should be shared spaces. And no I don't cycle.

Yes it is, The health minister listed this as one of the exemptions in an interview 3 days ago.

It is considered good for mental and physical well being but obviously social distancing must be observed and it must be solo.

You can fish alone, with members of your household or support bubble, or with one person from another household. Matches and overnight fishing are not permitted.

You learn to walk on one side or the other, in London that’s naturally become the right, don’t walk down the middle, don’t spread out side by side, a towpath is slim so walk single file, and must importantly, get your face out of your phones and look where you are going, not hard to adjust to

Indeed, cyclists should be on the road but many are idiots, even the lycra brigade that feel their professional cyclists hardly follow the road regulations in my experience but have the gaul to let you know if they feel you have impeded them.

This is very true but it only seems to happen in London.

I saw a video yesterday one of the covid marshals (I think in London as it was on other banks similar to the Southbank near the Thames) stopping somebody running outside, and saying they are are now telling people not to cycle or run as they may breathe too heavily and that can aid transmission.

Whether this is for real or not I don't know, it could have been just a prank, it did seem a little like taking you get a step too far to me personally.

Sadly more and more footpaths are becoming shared spaces, with a stupid painted line separating them. It doesn't safety segregate pedestrians and cyclists, as I see kids wandering in them all the time in Brighton sea front.

You could have that argument if they drove passed you (legally) on the road next to a pavement.

Or walking down a road with others walking...

Change your route if it makes you uncomfortable

What's this got to do with covid? Sounds like one of these irrational cycling hatred rants rather than any actual covid risk. Are you worried catching the virus in the nanosecond it takes for the cyclist to pass or are you worried about a couple of cyclists passing it to each other even tho the chances are they live together?

Princes Risborough, Luasanne, Alderney

just have some mutual respect. there's an element of cyclists that treat pedestrians in the same way that an element of car drivers treat cyclists. can't see the point myself. it's rude and it's dangerous and there is no excuse.

"If there were more cyclists there would fewer people in the at risk groups.

Next time you might like to thank the cyclist for ensuring he won't be occupying an icu bed, making space for all the lard arses."

I’m a cyclist and a lard arse. So do you still thank me or wait and see if I end up in an icu bed first?

I now carry a large stick to hit the lockdown walkers getting in my way on the route I have used for the last 20 years to get to work. ( I hit the occasional man in lycra as well as its just wrong) all seems fair to me.

I thought talk of violence on the forums was against the rules this is getting a little bit out of hand and unseemly.

Not finding someone "joking" About hitting someone with a stick funny does not mean somebody doesn't have a sense of humour!

I think

There is zero place for bending the rules Sars2 dictates!!!!!

I do think bending the rules humans invent guess and hope that have zero impact on the spread of sars can be bent with little guilt

Oh and I thin covsars2 rules that humans don't mandate should be meticulously adhered to

For example

I think I should drive 20 mile walk all day touch and see no one

Against human rules

I don't think I should bubble with 1 family

Perfectly allowed human rules

"Playing golf banned, fishing for competitions banned, so quite a few men have worn lycra and wondered off in the midday rain ...

Many are using footpaths/pavements, obviously illegal but haven't seen plod stop any, never mind tell them off. Afterall how can you socially distance?

Same thing on canal tow paths, lucky if one is more then 3 foot wide, same thing applies?

So be annoyed at riding on the pavements... what’s fishing and golf got to do with it?

Heavy breathing, sweating etc when flying past a person on a pavement, footpath/tow path compared to golf ... no difference to a walk or competition fishing, sat on your arse 10m away for 4 hours

I’m sure you turned away as they went passed therefore not breaching social distancing

I can’t do my sport but I’m happy for those that can!

Thats if you hear them? And if you carry on walking still in there spray zone

You could have that argument if they drove passed you (legally) on the road next to a pavement.

Or walking down a road with others walking...

Change your route if it makes you uncomfortable

You could obviously, hence using the example of illegal cycling and tow paths where pedestrians have right of way "

It is not illegal to cycle on towpaths, as per the canals and riverside trust. It is for all that wish to use and for everyone to share and follow the guidelines, just as cyclists need to go slowly if a busy patch, pedestrians need to be aware they are not the only ones entitled to use it and ensure their behaviour is appropriate.

If you are worried about people breathing and the width or the towpaths aren’t great for social distancing, then put a mask on to give yourself some more protection. It’s what I do in London in. It’s outdoor spaces.

You can’t and shouldn’t expect people to stop cycling / running because they breathe heavier, they are entitled to exercise as you are entitled to take yours by walking.

Be considerate and adapt if things, which are legal, bother you

"What's this got to do with covid? Sounds like one of these irrational cycling hatred rants rather than any actual covid risk. Are you worried catching the virus in the nanosecond it takes for the cyclist to pass or are you worried about a couple of cyclists passing it to each other even tho the chances are they live together?"

Absolutely right. A large proportion of the UK population seem to have an inbuilt hate of cyclists no matter what. Most of these cyclists would be in a car making the roads even busier if they weren’t on a bike, they aren’t creating pollution and they are keeping themselves fitter reducing the strain on the NHS. We should be grateful not critical.

wow. must be a Scottish thing. I am not going to argue with you as you are always right and would argue with a mirror plus I don't want to risk getting a barrage of links and quotes on what constitutes as funny. by the way stay clear of the bandage forum I believe they smack bottoms there.

More cyclists may be the way forward as long as they don't cycle on the pavement and put pedestrians at risk so I'm guessing that's why hes bothered as am I.

Indeed, cyclists should be on the road but many are idiots, even the lycra brigade that feel their professional cyclists hardly follow the road regulations in my experience but have the gaul to let you know if they feel you have impeded them.

"

As drivers dont follow the rules of the road u mean? X
