I'm not getting a warm feeling about this.

Nadhim Zahawi was on Woman's Hour this morning promising all sorts of things in relation to the vaccine.

Unless the UK is awash with doses of vaccine I think this is a distraction from what is happening in the hospitals.

A lack of ICU beds, ICU staff run into the ground, CPAP and ventilators removed from the Nightingale units and put into repurposed wards which are staffed by any medical staff that can be pulled in to work there. We appear to have gone way beyond the ICU nurses looking after two patients rather than one and it's all hands to the pumps.

Ambulances are now being used as treatment facilities and the refrigerated articulated trucks are fast filling with body bags.

Zahawi is using distraction in an attempt to divert from the absolute clusterfuck that is happening in the hospitals.

Although I welcome anything which recognises the less glamorous key workers out there, I have to agree with this.
