Stop status updates?

Just wondering if anyone else feels that status updates should be stopped for the time being? All we see are updates asking for meets. Surely at this time we should do all we can to prevent meets?

If you stop statuses they'll move to forums.

The only way to stop it completely would be to close the site.

People will do what people do. It I only becomes my business when they ask me. I then report them.

I actually quite like the people that put up status updates saying they want to meet because I know who to block.

Removing status updates won't stop people meeting. It will still happen.

Just ignore those who are looking for meets, that the best way.

Why not apply to be a moderator, then go through all the status updates and send warnings to all those expressing an INTENTION (not a desire) to meet.

I'm sure everyone would appreciate your devotion to doing right!

Status updates gives people the unique (on the site) ability to advertise meets and that they are looking for meets directly to their own geographical areas. I tried hard to get fab to see sense on this issue but to no avail.

You only have to see the cam veris on the worst offenders (in my area anyway) to see many are finding success through the feature.

The amount of abusive messages I got from those currently meeting told me just how much they value the facility. Many are site supporters so it would like result in a drop in revenue for the site.

I'll say this as a heads up there is an account that says they are acting on behalf of a reporter collecting evidence on this issue. I reported the account and blocked them straight away.

The last thing we need is swingers and fab taking a beating in the media.

That's all I'm saying on this issue.
