I have to admit I got really bothered by some members of this forum today. I along with a number of people on here have received some horrible crap in their inboxes due to differences of opinion of these forums but today I found myself being challenged on a whole new level. Somewhat subtly a few individuals wished to create a perception that myself, the current state of emergency the trust I work in was a work of fiction.

I’ve only ever existed on fab as Charli Grace, I’ve done that for nearly a decade and never had the desire to publicise my real life or advertise my male life.

My problem is this, actually after living it for 10 months the subject of this Pandemic and the very worst affects it has become a massively important subject to me. I work with the young nurses holding this crap together, I see people coming to work even though everything on their medical record says they should stay at home and shelter. I see the devastation so many families suffer.

It’s the only reason I post on here, I want people to to understand the reality, the seriousness, I don’t want people to get suckered into or be influenced by the fantasy or pie in the sky rhetoric which when all’s said and done is just used by some as self justification for their belief that they are more entitled than others. I don’t want a single piece of praise for what I do I just want people to understand the reality of what is happening in trusts up and down this country. I honestly believe once the majority of us embrace that then we will find respite from this awful time.

Anyway, I want people to realise my sincerity and honesty on this subject, here’s male NHS me... call him G if you like but that’s Charli Grace when not embracing glamour and all the things I hold sacred in my trans life, if you recognise the setting, the PPE you’ll see that person holds true to what I’ve always stated when asked about my background in this pandemic. I’m 100% as I’ve always stated on this forum and my opinion, experience and viewpoint is one that comes from the very centre of the frontline of the longest serving lockdown city in the U.K.

I’m sure the hate and bitching will continue from some quarters, that to be honest will wash over me. But please do so from now on realising I am voicing opinion based on experience and working within this reality. Perhaps also have a small look at yourselves and just consider how outrageous and to be blunt vile challenging what others have seen and suffered on your behalf is.

It's a shame you both felt the need to do this.

But I guess it just goes to show what kind of world we live in at the moment.

We are told daily and repeatedly what the hospitals and staff are trying to cope with, yet, people question it, or say its like that every year and will find anything to pick holes in.

Im just someone that stays home all the time, having done so since March and instead of moaning, I'm grateful to be able to.

I feel so deeply for those that are at risk every day at workplaces, not knowing if they will catch the virus, whilst trying to earn a living, not knowing how that virus will affect them should they catch it.

But for those seeing the devastation that has been caused over the last year or so, I truly am humbled, grateful and overwhelmed by their ability.

But to read the horrors that these people are going through on a daily basis and then witness them being picked apart is unbelievable.

I understand that people bury their heads in the sand, or choose to believe something inconceivable like the conspiracy theories but when it's people that have been affected by the virus, trying to make out these things may be false, it's just crazy.

Be lucky that you are only reading about these things, understand that they are happening and do everything in your power to ensure that those people never have to see your face in their hospital.

There are no words to express my gratitude to those hospital workers and care workers who are selflessly doing all they can for other people, I don't know how you do it, but thank you for being who you are. Xx

couple, us we him her.

It's a sad state of affairs that you have to do this Charli, I have said many times your post's really are the voice of reason on here you are at the very front of the frontline.

I have absolutely zero reason to doubt what you have been saying.

Unfortunately there is a hardcore group of non believers on here who continue to repeat the same arguments all day every day almost like they are organised and making a concerted effort to undermine all the hard work NHS staff are doing.

So once again thank you and I think it's about time fabs started treating some of the denier's post's as fake new, if they can't back up their statements with factual information then it's fake and should be deleted.

It's hurting people and causing other people to follow them.

It's nothing to do with freedom of speech and opinion it's out and out propaganda and brainwashing.

Thank you Charli and everyone who is frontline.

Certainly for the first time since this all started I am feeling scared. For those close to me, those I work with, and fuck it, I will admit, for myself too.

There is no denying the body count.

There is, however far too many people trying to find loopholes, focusing on 'well the rules don't specifically state I can't do X, Y or Z'. There needs to be more focus on what the rules are trying to achieve, and do what we can to achieve it.

Then maybe I can stop wearing this horrible kit, and people will stop dying.

Please, please, let's all take this seriously x

Thank you both for what you do for us regardless of how we caught this virus.

I, for one, am staying inside and trying not to add to the pressure.
