"I have just seen on the sky news website that the Moderna vaccine has been approved for use in the UK. Still needs -20 degrees storage but another step forward out of this dark time. It will be available in spring so please don't hold your breath. " Good News. Any new tool to get life back to normal is worth holding our breath for (for a little while at least).

"Basically needs a ‘normal’ freezer as opposed to the really cold ones Pfizer needs - so easier to use and dish out Enough for over 8 million people to have both doses and arrives in the spring - we have enough Pfizer and oxford to keep going until then " Most 'normal' freezers (domestic) go down to -18 which isn't cold enough. It needs -20. Unsuitable for the vaccine

If they say - 20 then why would they allow a higher tolerance. It is not guaranteed to be less than - 18. Even the fridge containers I drive are at - 18. They can go lower of course. If the vaccine had a tolerance, why not publish it?

"Great news. If we were still a part of the EU, ee may have had supplies even quicker. There's still debate on the supply availability for all of them, to enable us to reach high volumes of vaccination in sufficient time for us to relax lockdown measures by spring. 2 million per week isn't achieved yet and we may be able to increase that capacity. " If we were part of the eu maybe we wouldnt be ahead of most of the world per 100,000 people vaccinated.
