With the massive increase in cases it would be good to know where the majority of these cases are being transmitted.

Is it from workplaces, care homes, public transport?

If the new strain is the most dominant now and is far easier to transmit it would be interesting to find out in what way....

Even though we are in tier 4, things are nothing like the first lock down, supermarkets are still busy with families rather than single members from households, people don't seem to sanitise any more on entry and lots of people still stopping to chat with people they know.

It seems like we are fighting a losing battle

my gut says its passing in peoples houses , but the chances of people admitting that to the track and trace folk when they get a positive result isn't high they will just say oh I’ve been at the supermarket and the park then go phone their family and friends themselves , so its not likely to ever be reflected in the reported numbers... doesn’t take much more than a nosy at social media to work it out though... christmas tables set for 15 , photos of get togethers going up all last week... but its not even people with blatant disregard “taking a mile” , the rest of us taking our inches (lets face it we have all bent a little at some point or other) must all be adding up

Probably wouldn't be very accurate as the schools have been closed for Christmas, people would have been off work, and people mixed over Christmas so normal patterns have changed over the last few weeks.

Don't think its possible to find where an individual has covid. Everyone i know has caught it from work or have caught it from their kids who i presume must have got it from school. Ironically all the people i know with no jobs and spent quite a bit of time in the pubs when they were open have remained covid free.

couple, us we him her.

Christmas was a recipe for disaster.

Perfect breeding ground for the virus.

We all spend the rest of the time wearing masks, washing hands, using gel and maintaining social distance.

Yet Christmas would have been

Many people crammed into a small space for extended periods of time heating up full,no masks, probably little in the way of handwashing and social distancing, coughing and sneezing over each other.

Other than that it's probably transmitted Via

Touch points, poor hand washing protocol close proximity and lack of social distancing and mask wearing in the appropriate environment.

I guess

Speaking as a bus driver who exclusively drives school children, I have no idea. The only other people I have regularly met are my work colleagues, my parents in their 80s and supermarket shoppers throughout North Wales, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula.

I believe that there is a very real, very nasty disease out there. But I also believe that much advantage is being taken of this.

I was in a busy shop a couple of weeks before Christmas

They had the regulation spots on the floor for people to queue two metres apart

A member of staff came along the queue saying " can i remind you all to keep you distance ( people werent on their spots)

Not one person moved. They just looked at her like they didnt understand

This is what I see too, where I live our cases have remained low throughout until recently and now they are growing fast, yet instead of taking notice of the new rules people seem to be ignoring them

At the beginning of this pandemic we had queues outside supermarkets instead of having them packed full of people.

There were one way systems so the aisles didn't get full of people.

The staff were out reminding people to stay apart and guiding them to checkouts.

Now it's like a problem doesn't exist.

Despite the pleas from the NHS, the warnings about growth rate and the crazy daily figures, people seem to have stopped listening and it's more than worrying

I know what you mean, people dont seem to care, maybe they've just decided that they have got to get on with life, I blame Dominic Cummings,it all seemed to go down hill after that episode.

If you want the breakdown stats see the gov document

It’s within family units predominantly, infections from school kids passed upwards, retail, work etc... once in a household its very unlikely everyone isn’t hit though x

This. My gym PT has been working for track and trace since May and he says people are generally very evasive, don't want to share information and try to end calls, using excuses like "they're at work and can't talk" etc.

I'm in tier 4 but when you look outside its busier then ever. People dont give a fuck about others. What doesnt help garden centres open and other places. Government say stay in essential travel only, but you then have Chessington zoo saying that there open

Somewhere Only We Know

It isn't so much information we need, it is education we need to help endure the pandemic.

It is a virus and will spread regardless.

The government hasn't given any correct information from the start. All they have done is search out a vaccine.

People need the education of which nutrition and vitamins work best to help ride out any of the symptoms and build up the immune system to help fend the virus off.

Hopefully, with both the jab and the right education on which nutrients and vitamins to take, plus a full lockdown for a month or so, we could all curb the virus sooner than later.

Really? You think those hundreds of couldn’t care less people who broke into and trashed that church on New Years Eve know who Dominic is, looking at the footage they wouldn’t even have a clue who they are themselves let alone someone else lol and if adults take the attitude well he did it so I will then we are all doomed, pure selfish behaviour

I've had to ask people to move back on to the spot in supermarkets. Most of them look at me as if I'm the crazy one

surrounded by twinkly lights

A virologist on bbc news this morning explained that the new strain replicates more quickly inside us so we transmit more of the virus to each other, so people are getting and transmitting on a bigger dose to people who are too close

Here's the thing, if the govt hadn't of used the opportunity to line their and their supporters pockets through the very questionable awarding of contracts I wouldn't be able to say anything but like I said, here's the thing, its disaster crony capitalism on a massive scale by HMG.
