Goodbye (for at least a little while)

Stockport

I've realised that reading and posting on the virus forum is starting to be not good for my mental and emotional health. Some few of you may have noticed that my recent posts have tended to include more than a few f*cks and general angryness.

Accordingly, I've decided to remove myself from here for a while. I have been active on the topic of covid since the very start, before there was even a separate virus forum, and hope that some of the stuff I've written has been useful and appreciated.

I will still be around on other forums, perhaps in the lounge mostly - I may just put myself down on the big comfortable sofa and catch up on some sleep. I might even pop in here from time to time, but am going to try to keep quiet.

If anyone wants to pick my brain on any topics (maybe stats or spread rate calculations?), or even (especially!) just a natter, then please DM me or come find me in the other forums.

It's been, well not fun, more like harrowing at times. But rewarding i think. With (socially distanced) hugs, Polly xx

I hear you and have taken myself off fab altogether a few times. I hate these threads but drawn to them. They get into your head so much so I get in trouble for speaking my mind.

Stay safe and strong

Xx

Galaxy Far Far Away

I do tend to look at this forum but like you I often answer while angry so its not a good thing although due to the kind of posts being made, and the importance of the subject I find it hard to keep quiet. Its a bit like the politics forum mark 2 and that that one was poisonous.

Only just noticed there's a games forum so might busy myself in there for a while.

Sorry to appear rude but so what? Is there really any need for this flouncing? If you don't want to read the forum then don't come on it, I doubt anyone will bother. Bit arrogant to expect everyone to have the same opinion as yours tbh.

Hey Polly, It's a horrible time and the epidemic of stupid selfish bastards just compound it. Take care and thanks, your contributions were always measured, wise and pertinent.

Whilst you may be a bit part player in the forum, many people are here for social reasons and have friends etc. Healthy normal human relations includes support for each other. The forum are free for people to use within Fab rules limits, as you as well as Polly and the rest of us are doing and are welcome to.

One of the issues for everyone now is that we've faced an unrelenting long period of severe limitations to our lives, especially socially. Even for those not infected, it's important to look after each others' wellbeing, ss well as our own.

Swinging is a very social lifestyle and long may this continue!

Well said.

I've had to remove myself a few times and I'm very close to doing it again for similar reasons.

I have often found there are some who are very prominent, poopluar forum members who seem to have lost touch with this other supportive side that's often missing in most posts unless dedicated to such a thing.

When you find a 'let's encourage someone', ' make someone's day' post pop up you know it's got that bad we have to dedicate a post to it.

Personally I think the regular popular forumites should take on a more active role to stamp out some of these 'dont give a fuck' comments on others posts.

Make 2021 a better different by your comments fabbers or don't comment.

O o O oo

It is wise to remove yourself from posting if you feel your anger rising. I am not sure there is a need for an announcement though

Forum Rules

In summary: If you treat other people with respect, you can't go far wrong. Don't forget that the forums are meant to be fun, if you find yourself fuming and writing long angry messages you're probably best taking a break from it.
