Somewhere Only We Know

Do you think that Fab blocking club reviews, verifications and so on, has stopped people meeting and reducing C-19?

A simple answer is all that is required.

A. Yes.

B. No.

No.

But I understand the theory why Meet in Person veri have been blocked from being displayed.

Blocking the Club Reviews, not so much seeing as how (when they were legally allowed to open) club owners jumped thru hoops and bent over backwards to comply with legislation so as to ensure a safe environment.

Not at all.

Fab statuses are been used up and down the UK to organize physical meets.

For a while blocking the person from seeing the user they reported was enough but enough of us have friends who can clearly see no action is been taken those using the site to arrsnge sex meets.

As a couple we get a minimum of 5 (some days many more) meet now requests per day, mainly single men but also from couples and the odd single women as well. When questioned many don't give 2 shits because they know there is no consequence to them currently. They even say they are using the site properly and its us who should leave. If anything its users highlighting these issue in the forums that have had their posts removed and a 24 hr / 48 forum ban issued. Which has led to many to scared to speak up on the issue.

However given the total shit state of the pandemic (Charlies Overwhelming post last night was heart breaking) more and more good people are deciding enough and speaking out on the issue. I have had huge support via PM's for speaking out about it.

To Fab Admin please can we open up a dialogue here to best discuss this issue? I'm sure many people would give their time to help out if it was needed as at the end of the day it could save lives.

Stay safe everyone

Still plenty refusing to be imprisoned in their own homes

But in the main I think meets have significantly decreased due to fab rules. I'm only guessing but fab don't want to ban a huge load of profiles....especially the ones that are paying the money each month. Not good for business

Well said and agree 100%. While some effort has been made I think the constant closing of threads where meeting is being called out (without usernames etc being mentioned) is wrong.

This virus isn't going away anytime soon unless behaviour across the board improves (not just on here but in society). It seems we're more than happy for the forums to be flooded with "snog, marry, fuck" or "big dick" threads yet this is constantly overlooked.

Definitely.

Even if Fab just removed the Status update facility for everyone for a while. Doing that would immediately make a huge difference by stopping those meeting to be able to advertise that fact to others.

Yes

Simply put every barrier to entry will prevent some poliforation.

Will it stop all? No.

But as with any rule there are those who will deliberately step over the line, those who will test the line, those who step over without thinking and those who will never cross it.

The ban will impact the middle group of people it will prevent some inadvertently breaking the rules and will deter some who would have half heartedly tried.

Those who have no intention of staying socially distant it would only impact in so far as to make it more difficult to arrange meets as they can't openly advertise. But they will still meet.

This I believe.

So no it hasn’t stopped people who want to meet.

Strange thing is I understand both sides of this issue. So please don’t respond with the rule book and your extreme view.

If you a person on their own and you are not working or socialising - then you are a very low risk if you have been following the rules.

Where I live has effectively been on lockdown since September (students arrived) and we are now locked down until at least April.

So, it’s not good for here.

But hey I hear schools are incredibly safe places - wtf! I can’t go to a bar but we can open a school with over 800 people in it - yeah right.

Also I can’t leave my city boundary but yesterday 13 flights arrived from London Manchester and international locations.

The whole thing is frustrating and I’m getting fed up with the whole subject.

Club reviews and verifications, no. Don't think any clubs were open anyway.

But turning off meets and events, yes. Pretty sure even the ones who are locked would have found it enticing when they see meets being advertised on fan and a group of them would have broken rules to join them.

No. In the past 12 days or so I have personally reported about 350 profiles with 'meet now' type statuses - the vast majority single males, a few dozen couples, and a handful of single females...

....the fact that I've subsequently seen quite a few of those profiles with the same or similar statuses clearly indicates that insufficient action - if any - has been taken to curb them...

....there really is one simple solution which would go a long way to resolving the problem, which I've seen suggested a few times already - the 'Meet Now' facility was removed, why can't the status one?

That's the million dollar question especially considering the widescale that its been abused to advertise for meets.

Fab need to remove the status update feature from ALL users users until this pandemic is under control.

If Fab Admin remove Status Updates as an option then in one fell swoop they will remove the option for those looking to meet ability to advertise for meets to the people geographically local to them.

I challenge anyone to put almost any UK postcode as your location then check the local updates (relevant to the current postcode) to see all the sex meet requests.

By doing that you will soon see just how widespread and the sheer number of people using this facility to meet.
