If you have done any un-selfish things in your whole life, please let this be at least one of them.

This isn't about Boris or Brexit or Politics or anti-vaxxing or Lizards.

Please. Please. Just stay the FLUCK home and we'll all be out of it sooner.

Agreed. Almost 1000 dead over 50000 new infections. Very scary. We have to be very sensible

In some ways I am impressed that so many people continue to obey the rules, given that everytime more freedoms are removed and more places are forced to close and more events are cancelled the infection rate continues to rise. I do worry that there will be a point where mass disobience starts to occur.

Yes

Perhaps it will be when the hospitals can no longer cope, and peoples relatives cant get the care they need?

Perhaps THEN the deadheads on here will get the message?

I wish people wouldn't use language like "obey the rules" etc. Rules don't really mean much when they aren't enforced or if breaking them isn't punished. But mostly I think that people, more people than not, are "following the rules" not because they are rules but because they want to do what it takes to be part of the solution rather than the problem.

Social responsibility rather than rules.

But there are also new laws and special powers.

Only 338 people under 60 have died without underlying problems of covid . November 30th 76000 hospital staff were off that’s where the problem has arrived from

But

Are there really enough people (on and off of here) disobeying the rules to cause the spike? Or is the issue with the system itself and the control measures themselves?

Yes, but are the control measures actually targeting the key places where transmission occurs or are they only achieving minimal effectiveness?

It seems that despite fewer people socialising and congregating there is still a rise in infections which is too great to be attributed to the minority of rule breakers.

I was planning to drag myself into central London to stand in the freezing cold with a cold can of watery beer. Alternating looking at my watch and Nelson whilst shivering and asking if the fireworks are on this year. I realise that actually this would have been the first time I would have done this and then the brutal reality of standing in a concrete square with a bunch of covid coughing half pissed infectious individuals was not the best plan after all.... I bet lots go though. Happy new year let’s hope things get better soon. Stay safe all

Colchester

A Discord Party (Discord is like Zoom, except it's used by gamers and the like).

It'll be interesting to see if the worldwide surge in video streams on many platforms criss-crossing the globe can be managed on the underlying infrastructure.

We all know back in March when the UK demand for video ramped up, it caught a few providers out, although since then capacity has increased.

It's be interesting to see if the surge pre/post 12am will be able to manage.

I'm phoning folks in the afternoon today, to wish them in advance, and pre-empting connection issues later.

Yup u have a good point here! As on the whole I think most peeps are sticking to the "rules" no matter what they might think to them! Like everything in life there will allways b them that dont otherwise we have no need for police/prisons the place everyone goes is the supermarkets think here will b a big spreader! As peeps really dont / cant distance! Is just not happening! X

Let's remember what those conditions are :

- cancer

- obesity

- asthma

- HIV

- skin allergies

- compromised immunity

This person is advocating genocide of people who are not 100% fit of any age.

But I bet they get holiday vaccines even though they could survive it...

Selfish people.????
