"Hi peeps,

Pubs wouldn't be able to get ready in time. They need at least a week to order stock and prepare.

Realistically, is it really worth the spike in cases for the sake of one night partying?

No chance at all of this, the amount of gatherings would make the entire Christmas lockdown a waste of time. Unfortunately we’re just in a holding pattern until the vaccine starts to work and cases start to drop off again as we go into summer.

No way is that going to happen. I'm surprised that we aren't all in a national lockdown

"Hi peeps,

No....he wont....and nor should he.

However, I suggest that if anybody does wish to celebrate NYE as normal, please affix a tab to your ankle saying so, in case the worst should happen. That way the already over burdened health system will know exactly who to blame.

How and in what way can that comment be as bad as the tossers that have kept us in this situation? They're spot on as far as I'm concerned. On the behalf of us that have done our best to minimise the spread. Utter tossers!

I have friends who work in the health system on all fronts....from nurses to porters to cleaners to admin and they have all said pretty much the same thing. Maybe not about NYE but about gatherings in general. They are all tired of people disregarding the restrictions, however bad they maybe, and its only their professionalism that stops the majority of them from saying so in a public environment.

So yes, I stand by my comment. Feel free to disagree if you like, it's your right to do so.

That's how this government has dealt with this pandemic, the lockdown measures were a joke.

No OP not worth it.

Have work colleagues in Northern Ireland and they are in a 6 week Tier 4 lock down.

Wee Nicola up here has us in a three week Tier 4 with schools not good back till 18th which England is now following.

She has dropped a hint that the restrictions might last for 2 months.

So with Wales shut up as well don't be surprised if Boris decides to follow suit and it is lock down January.
