I think they were removed for cleansing, not to mention evidence disposal. The length of time the virus remains viable is subject to debate.

If popped in a slow Christmas post, they'd be probably fine for new year investigation

I know that there was talk earlier in the year about a study showed covid in semen,but I think it was a small study way back.
