Christmas plans

I tend to check into a UK hotel (Christmas doesn't seem the same abroad, I've found) for a Christmas package during the Christmas period - I find it much more relaxing.

Anyway, I've done the same this year and fingers cross it goes ahead ..i.e. the hotel doesn't end up in tier 3 and close before my arrival.

What have others got planned (if you want to share) and how if at all have your plans been disrupted or have the potential to be disrupted by COVID19?

Myself, family and friends have decided to treat it like any other day. Its just one Christmas so we are taking no risks and looking forward to Christmas 2021.

Low key, no oldies, just very close family. And planning on catering for between 2 and 7 depending on circumstances (leftovers anyone?) xx

"Myself, family and friends have decided to treat it like any other day. Its just one Christmas so we are taking no risks and looking forward to Christmas 2021."

Makes sense.

Apparently 40m people moved around the country for Thanksgiving and now they're dealing with the aftermath. There's always next year, for most at least.

Should be in a better place come Christmas 2021

I looked at Dubai for the NY myself, interestingly - along with some other places - Thailand for example. But the screen process is arduous - particularly for the UAE.

Its not too bad they are impressively efficient. When you are in the sun it’s worth it.

My mum is coming to stay. I usually work but am off this year. She has just had an op so needs alot of support and nothing will get in the way of my plans as i am classed as her carer.

Working all over as usual but fortunate that Christmas day had fallen on my rest day this year so will be mainly spent at home with the kids and at my parents later for lunch, drinks etc

We have invited my daughter, her partner and child round for the day, we are their childcare anyway so we have all mixed together already.
