You just imagine how many people are not going to take it though there is always going to be out one or two persons that will say I've never fell ill I've never felt this that and they will demand that they're not taking it

As long as enough people take it to slow the spread down, we'll have herd immunity.

And if elderly and vulnerable people can get access to it then we're all good.

There’s many reasons why someone might not want to take the vaccine. I don’t think I’d be too quick to jump on the bandwagon.

No they're in many baskets, you don't understand the research into vaccines.

There are 2 options

Immunity

Avoidance

Immunity could be offered in different ways by totally different vaccines for different groups with different needs

"Thank god we have left the EU

Why? It has been developed by a German /US company and is manufactured and stored in Belgium "

European regulators have issued concern over the UK's decision to approve Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for deployment, saying their longer approval programme was safer.

In an very blunt statement, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is in charge of approving COVID-19 vaccines for the EU, said its longer approval procedure was more appropriate as it was based on more evidence and required more checks and balances than the emergency procedure adopted by the UK.

The agency said yesterday it would decide by December 29th so we are about a month ahead by being out of the EU. It remains to be seen if that's a good thing. Normally we're a month behind everyone else

The EU have said they didn't want to approve it too soon because they wanted to boost confidence in people taking up the vaccine and not play into the hands of the antivax brigade.

The UK approved the vaccine under EU legislation. We have no different abilities than other member states, who could have each approved it similarly to us.

Thank god the UK have rushed through approval, it's not like anything could go wrong.

Oh wait a minute....

Does anyone remember what happened when the Swine Flu vaccine was rushed through???

I'm not an anti vaccer, in fact I have had all my childhood vaccines and a few more due to travelling in South America.

But there is no way I'm going to be taking this one for quite sometime until I confident it is safe.

There's always shammers hanging around.

I'm amazed at seeing so many who clearly are not social distancing by meets going up who are expecting the vaccine to do the job that they should have been doing in the first place, adhering to the restrictions.

This virus is here to stay for many many years to come. Tourism will keep recirculating it back and pockets will continue. Even if enough take the vaccine and a herd immunity starts, which will take a few years at best, we will still have tourists who have been vaccinated continue to spread it thinking they are safe so it's ok.

Behaviour is what has spread it, behaviour will continue to spread it.

Most people who are hesitant are not anti vaxers, but people who care not just for themselves but also for others.

There are in reality very few anti vaxers and those shammers, as with most shammers, simple do not want to listen to anyone who may have a different view.

Do more research, the swine flu vaccine was rushed through UNTESTED

again it was UNTESTED

This vaccine has been tested as far as is practical and the focus of the entire world is on Pfizer et al

It's individual choice but should be choice based on factual evidence and not myths and legends and stories from Sandra and Ken on Facebook and Twitter.

Trust your GP and not some guy in a t-shirt on YouTube

This. It comes down to choice for many of us. If people want it, have it, if they don't, then don't. No need to shame anyone or resort to derogatory terms because you don't agree with their choices.

Yes but the EU is as usual dragging its feet in approving the vaccine. The EU are not going to consider approval until later this month. A few weeks might not seem much but it actually means thousands of more deaths.

So I'll ask you again the same question I asked you in another of your posts, but what you've so far failed to respond to -

So what are you saying, delay the vaccines for 10 years while they are tested more? To continue lockdown after lockdown, social distancing, quarantining, face masks, the inability to meet closely with family and friends or travel for the next 10 years, so the vaccines can be assessed more fully?
