I genuinely didn't know he was.

Maybe he is one if these say something controversial types.

A nurse has lambasted him on Twitter.

He's the old actor Edward foxes son...

I have the feeling he is a bit like our version of michael rappaport in the states...with less 4 letter words.

He's a toff actor who despite every advantage of birth has never been more than middle of the road... which shows you how shit he is.

On some level he must have realised his limitations and figured he can get more fame by being a posh, male version of Katy Hopkins, and so has styled himself as a typical talentless outrage-merchant. Naturally the plandemic, anti-vax, ALM, mentally challenged drivel lovers have flocked to him probably because in the dim recesses of their slavishly inept brains his posh-boy accent is the closest thing they can associate with intelligence. Perhaps understandable as they have such a fleeting relationship to intellect themselves.

I don't agree with his recent comments but I did agree with his comments regarding Meghan Markle on Question Time. There was a journalist planted in the audience who said that the reason people hated her was due to racism. Laurence Fox disagreed strongly with this and was then accused of having white privilege. Since it's appearance on Question Time he lost all of his acting jobs. We seem to be arriving at a place in time where we are no longer allowed to have an opinion and free speech seems to be a luxury.

The BBC as usual was showing incredible bias and and sick to death of these lefty journalists to be honest. It had nothing to do with racism the British Public accepted her when she married Harry and millions of people tuned in to watch the wedding and line the streets. But her and Harry developed into these insufferable woke bores complaining of their constant misery and wanting it both ways. I completely respected Laurence fox for what he said on that program and and while I can't condone his recent comments he is no worse than anyone else who is not following lockdown including many celebrities.

Good point, you don't have to agree with peoples differing opinions. We have plenty on here. But surely we defend their right without the ridiculous cancel culture that lives alongside it.

I also am a little troubled the way some people on here go after peoe because they speak "posh". Is it wrong to speak clearly and with proper elocution? I hope it isn't, I love listening to women speaking nicely... And men for that matter. We have a beautiful language sometimes.

People are free to give their opinions and other people are free to think 'ugh, he's a bit of a dickhead' and not give then any work.

Free speech is not freedom from consequences. It's freedom from the government throwing you in jail for what you say.

His agent probably had a better insight to his character than we do. He dropped him.

Flauting the rules with a private party and public disdain for lockdown has earned him a justifiable wave of negativity from NHS workers.

He comes across as a bit of a twunt, to be honest.

He is in a business that is mostly a popularity contest and notoriously fickle. He knows this.

He has every right to say what so ever he wishes. His potential employers have every right to decide they don't want to use him in their products.

He hasn't been "cancelled", in fact I would suggest quite the opposite. He has had more publicity and exposure since he has started being controversial.

I suspect he saw the end of one career, and decided to go for another "celebrity politician".

Talk about going off topic;

wing noun [C] (FOR FLYING)

the flat part of the body that a bird, insect, or bat uses for flying, or one of the flat, horizontal structures that stick out from the side of an aircraft and support it when it is flying:

Let's talk about ordinary people.

Ordinary people break lockdown rules and get caught, they get fined.

Ordinary people say certain things, they face disciplinary actions in their jobs.

This is the way life works

So when a right wing celebrity does it he gets sympathy and press time and we deride anyone who disagrees or thinks they should be treated like anyone else.

Cancel culture oppression why will no one hear my cries! They scream across the press

Semantics of "cancelled"... I understand that in his mail profession as an actor, he has had engagements cancelled and is not being considered for other roles. Now I take that info from main stream media and Im no expert on the man, but has he had work cancelled? It would appear yes. Is he being targeted and threatened at his home now for having unpopular opinions? It would appear yes.

Cancelled seems to mean become persona non grata and silenced, or degrees of that.

But it's also conflating/ confusing consequences and oppression.

Public figure does something unpopular. People react. "putting company into disrepute" might apply for employment purposes.

Do I condone death threats or abuse? No. Do I do it? No.

But this isn't suppressing free speech, a new Holocaust and cats marrying dogs. It's someone doing something unpopular and natural reactions occurring.

Hmmm while what little I’ve found out about him, doesn’t make him sound like a good guy in way, shape or form, I must say that the nurse who dragged him on Twitter for having dinner (I think) while she held the hand of a dying patient, was utterly tasteless! Using a death even privately, far less on social media, to try and one up or shame someone else, no matter how awful they may be, is disgusting.
