Rather worrying story this morning on BBC regarding "long covid" and long term damage to lungs. As has been argued many times in these threads, the consequences of having the infection are still being understood. Whilst survival rates are high, other things do seem to be happening in some people.

This why we can't just let covid blow through the population and why natural herd immunity is a none starter, also it would take years or decades but that is another matter. Although this kills around 1% of people who catch it the long term consequences of catching covid are unknown.

It was an interesting read even though on a small number of individuals. The results of his next test can only add more answers, and possibly raise more questions on how to tackle this and it’s long term affects, especially as none of those examined required oxygen or intensive care treatment but still have damage from the virus.

Yes there are a number of stories of people having strokes as a result of it, including young people.
