charities are warning about lack of money being donated and customers keeping away.

obviously all animal centres, not just dogs need a bit of help. including donations of bedding etc.

i for one will be going to aldi and get a few big bags of dry food.

Totally agree, and also I have been reading about how having pets are helping our mental health,(and certainly help me through these isolated times).
