Hi Swingers,

Wanting to know if UK citizens are allowed to fly in to the United States of America this period? Any advice as the various sites visited,aren't saying much

No you can't, although you can get a 2 week working visa but it isn't easy. I know because I'm meant to be in the US & Japan (for work) but can't get entry for either country.

It's all on the .Gov website

You will struggle to get insurance as the FCO advice is not to travel, which invalidates most insurance policies.

You have to fly into specific airports, and then catch connecting flights.

Different states have different requirements for mask mandates and isolation.

Spoke with Delta airlines customer rep on Saturday..not helpful.Said it's not in their position to stop passengers from buying tickets ..That they should sort themselves out ahead of traveling..

"Travelers Prohibited from Entry to the United States

With specific exceptions, foreign nationals who have been in any of the following countries during the past 14 days may not enter the United States. For a full list of exceptions, please refer to the relevant proclamations in the links below.

China

Iran

European Schengen area (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City)

United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland)

Republic of Ireland

Brazil

Hi Folks, defo we are all keeping safe? Reopening this thread because I tried going to the USA on Tuesday this week and was stopped at the check in counter by Airfance staff doing the check in.Any one with the best approach or institution I could report to for a refund as the booking agents, Airfance and Delta air lines are using me like a pawn on a chess board over who should be held responsible..Many thanks in anticipation

Did you book a ticket prior to covid shutting the borders of did you book a ticket recently without checking if you qualify to enter?

Were you trying to go for a holiday or work or....?

The proclamations from March are still in force. Only people who meet the specified exceptions are allowed entry.

Then it comes down to, if you checked that you meet the entry requirements, and what your nationality is.

If for example you're British and were trying to go over for a holiday then contact who you booked the flight with and ask for a voucher or maybe a refund (if they offer that)

If you have an American passport I believe it's different again.

If you were going for work or one of the other exceptions, it's different again.

I thought they'd suspended the esta application process? Admitted I have valid estas myself so I wouldn't have reapplied yet but I do check the entry requirements before booking anything.

I’m fairly sure, because I was going for work, that you cannot fly from the UK to the US.

You can fly into the UK from the US but beware of transits. You need a negative covid test from some airports else you cannot board.

The gov uk website isn’t totally clear though.
