I had a flu jab 2 weeks ago at work,i had a troat infection over 12 days ago, my doctor said its only tonsilis infection and i need antibiotics,i feel fine, no temp or cough, im so depresed,i dnt but i still went n had a covid test dne as increased numbers at wrk, it come bk positive, yesterday i had test on thursday

Its left me worrying depresed loney with fear isolsted in one room, any advice or tips will help me over come this, i dnt have any underlining health condition,

Is it my general winter cold after flu jab thats caused this, as the nurse told us u will get a cold..

Any help is welcomed

Had it, just very mild. All you can really do is rest, take paracetamol for any aches (I had a stinking headache) and eat/drink as best as you can.

Thank u so much i feel scared to death just knowing ive had it. We had a surge of cases in our wrk but theirs nothing they can do thry have a precausions in place

If you are just mildly ill, I'd say try not to worry. Both of us had it, we were off colour for just over a week but managed to keep working from home for most of it. We were absolutely fine after a couple of weeks

No real need to be scared to death.

You will make yourself ill in another way.

Like whats already been said take paracetamol and chill for a week.

Everything is in your favour, rest well, eat well and maybe start reading a new book to take your mind of things.

Hi there,

I've just recovered from covid.

I didn't really have any symptoms and only got tested because my work told me a colleague had tested positive.

A few days after the test came back positive i started to feel unwell.

Started with a tickly cough then went on to full blown man flu with tight chest, swollen throat and my kidneys hurt.

The worst of it lasted about 6 days but then i started to slowly get better.

I just took paracetamol and drank plenty of water and made sure there was fresh air in my room.

I slept alot too.

I'm now clear of it but i still struggle with my breathing a little bit and my energy levels suck.

I guess it depends on how healthy you are and how much of the virus is in your system too how bad you get with it.

I'm sure you'll be ok, just stay healthy and stay safe.

Plenty of paracetamol, fluids and rest helped.

Find some good netflix box sets to keep you company and distracted.

Both had it back in Feb.

Wasn't too bad -5 or 6 days of flu like symptoms then got better, though the next week it did seem to return a bit with a slightly raised temperature for a few evenings.

Mr got a cough about halfway through and while I felt totally recovered after 8 or 9 days the cough took several weeks to completely go.

An anti-body test in August confirmed we'd had it.

You cant catch cold, flu or even covid from the flu jab. Hard to explain in writing why you get symptoms of a cold. I explain it at least 10 times a day. But you DONT get cold flu or covid from it.

I will advise anybody to get the flu jab and the upcoming c19 vacc too . K

I had cough since 6 november got tested negative but then got tested again 19th nov and it come bk positive.. doctor said to me it was a troat infection.. i have any syptoms of lost of taste or smell or temperature

Today is 25th novembee and i feel totaly fine..

Is this covid just like any seasonal flu, and thryve named it covid, to scare peoole off..

With false hospital deaths

My friend had it. 41 yrs old woman in a good health. She first lost a taste and smell. Then higher temp. Just a little bit above 38deg.... but.... she ended up in the hospital and was ventilated. She said that was the worst “flu” she has ever had. She couldn’t breath. She felt like someone had put a big stone on her chest.

She survived.

Covid is horrid.

I was pretty fit for my age. Never smoked, used to teach MA.

Last December I got a temperature, that became a flu. I was in hospital through Christmas and new year and nearly died twice (I’ve not really said this to anyone who’s not a friend).

It took me three months to be able to walk 1k in less than an hour.

So, if you have any breathing issues. Feel that you can’t fully inhale / fill your lungs. Then go to hospital. If your temp hasn’t gone in 48hrs then go to hospital.

If you can’t hold a conversation without needing to stop for breath... go to hospital.

Take paracetamol and ibuprofen, to keep it under control and rest a lot.

This thing is serious and it really doesn’t care who we are.

On the bright side. From the moment I got the temp... I wasn’t capable of looking at my phone for three weeks so you are doing way better than me.

i had it in March was fairly mild compared to an housemate although it was not very pleasant..

still rattle a little bit in the chest .

if you have it then you should try lying on your chest...suppose to help. but really if you're bad ring ambulance

Focus on immune strength- can take Vitamins A, C, D, Zinc and Iron

Alternative therapy- boil infusion of lemon/ lime, ginger, garlic sweetened with honey. Drink morning and evening. If you have low blood pressure be careful with the amount of garlic you take in. Otherwise, you can chew the garlic. You will be fine. Rest, water, fruits and veg and you will be good.

I beg to differ 4 month ago my fb died of covid age 49 we did lot of running together so pleae try being factual I was with her parents on the final vid call she had gone blind unable to respond to anything.

It feels totally different and is.

Initially it is ok I'll say that the aching muscles and fatigue but other symptoms soon start that overshadow these then forget it being"just like the flu" I still can't believe that people think it's a hoax.

This virus, regardless of what the experts say, seems to affect people differently: it's not one size fits all.

I'm 60. I had the flu when I was 17. My parents had to carry me to the loo, I have NEVER felt so sick in my life.

I tested positive in October. I'm old, fat, black with underlying medical conditions, apart from an irritating cough and slight tiredness...in normal times I'd have taken an extra 200mg of iron and drank honey and lemon and gone to work...that was it.

Himself, with his own medical issues tested negative.

All we can do is be sensible and not panic.

It sounds trite but the reality is we've taken our first breath, we WILL take a last: fretting and worrying isn't going to change that.

I had "regular" flu at 17, thought I was dying, couldn't move or breath: two weeks of hell.

Had the virus and hardly noticed.

I think that's why globally we're not getting on top of this. People call the common cold the flu: two totally different things.

to the point where, if I'm wearing perfume, I tend to clear a room as I can't smell it so end up drenching myself in it, to the detriment of everyone around me lol

Energy still not the same as it was and find I fall asleep at random times. I'm donating blood plasma at the moment so hopefully it will help in the fight to help everyone. As said, paracetamol, lots of water, eat well, lots of vitamins and rest and keep your chin up. Xx

It's definitely reality.

It just makes no sense to why it affects people so differently.

I'm more than 6 weeks in and have long covid.

Fortunately the cough subsided this week but I still ache all over, get out of breath walking up and down the stairs, get headaches and chest pains.

It effects people differently.

Mrs has asthma but flew through it.

Mr fit as a butchers dog but struggled with it.

And I think this is what people don't understand comparing it with flu is just wrong as generally speaking when people have flu their symptoms are pretty much the same obviously some more severe than others.

With covid the different symptoms people have and the difference in severity is staggering making it difficult to work out who's going to be bad or not.
