Or maybe the world has moved on and us "religious nuts" are happy to co-exist happily with science and no longer need to attribute every natural disaster, tragic occurrence or outbreak of disease to a omnipotent being Or divine intervention?

I'm sure you can find plenty of God related virus stories and pieces if you target your attention. The UK has a broader population today than the past, many religions but fairly low active engagement levels in religion, compared to the past.

News outlets, for example, haven't allocated time for religious opinion on the news during my lifetime.

This epidemic is far better suited to a scientific understanding of it, than woo merchants who exist in the outback somewhere who will perform some psychic surgery to cure you.

It's a bit Dan Brown - but less looking for hidden clues with Forest Gump and a Leggy side-kick.
