So many jobs and businesses are affected. This will be the lasting legacy of Covid and the fallout which ensues

I was made redundant at the end if June worked all thru the lock down as well.

Lucky for me I was able to go straight back into construction site management after 4 years in sales

I would advise anyone to try construction as that area is very busy, roofing, cladding, cold room installations.

Go get your cscs card it isn't difficult, there is a monetary cost but well worth it

Someone on here yesterday was trying to tell me on here that construction sites were mostly shut and wouldnt listen to me telling here that construction is booming but according to her someone told her otherwise and that I was lying lol.

I have worked in construction 30 year but she knew better lol.

Some people always know better than the person actually in position to give first hand observations

After redundancy on 30th June I was on site in South Wales the 6th July finished that project,August 26th the on site in Birmingham from 1st September, finished that project 6th November

Next project is in Greenford North London start on site 23rd November

All trades are maxed out throughout the UK

That's what I tried to tell her. everyone I know is getting offers of work on a daily basis.

But she wouldnt have it."

construction is mad at the moment we are booked up for the next year and work is pouring in every day. Worked all the way through 60+hours a week and can not hire decent skilled workers there just isn't any about because everyone is flat out.

"Problem is my children are young and I can only work school hours"

That's really going to be a problem unfortunately.

There's always work out there but the "easiest" to get into is generally the least desirable such as factory shift work, generally nights which I did for 14 weeks from April after being made redundant.

I have a plant hire business and we are flat out

And try and buy more diggers is nigh on impossible

Construction is flying at the moment, friend of mine who owns a ground works company has just taken on 20 new guys

But as someone said earlier get your construction card
