I have been wondering about this for a while now, how do you think that the sex dating industry will be affected of covid as its users on dating sites, clubs and apps cant meet like before? Lets hope that they dont get affected and could survive

I was thinking about this this morning too.

I was wondering if people are going to be as thorough and regular with their STI testing once we can all meet again. Or if they are going to be of the mentality of 'well, I survived Covid, so I'm sure I will be fine'

Also, are so many of us that were regular club goers going to be too cautious to attend.

Will we be so used to social distancing and mask wearing that nothing will be the same again?

If people have been thorough with testing during lockdown, there will be much less STI's around.

Good idea in theory but unfortunately no point as there are too many people still meeting for casual sex

Yes those are interesting questions too. I think most will be the same with the testing as they are now, club goers might think twice of going as it is a enclosed environment.

I also wonder how the dating in the future will go as you say there, a social with a mask and distance. I reckon we will get used to it very quickly as well.

They were open for appointments only here but sporadically. They also had test kits sent to home, for an automated service - I think that was for much of the country. HIV infections have continued their downward trend, though other factors are in place too.

Fewer partners reduces the potential probability of infections.

Lockdowns may make it harder for cheating partners to be able to pop out from work etc, to get a test but I'd hope people will continue with appropriate testing.

Yes, I think so too.

I really don't mind wearing mine at all since I bought some expensive ones. They fit nicely and are really comfy.

You can get tests sent to your house, then post it back and get your results usually within 3 days.

If this site is anything to go by its probably buyer than ever, no shortage of fucking idiots still still willing, desperate even, to risk it. And not just men.

Makes me wonder what else they willingly spread.

I guess there is no right or wrong way to sort this mess out, and I'm all for being able to do what I want when I want it's my life...

But come on, if we all play by the rules and make a proper effort to avoid as much spread of covid as possible we will all be filling our boots again in no time!

Carry on regardless and We'll still be having this conversation this time next year.

I've been tested 3 times since March. Not as often as my normal testing but enough. They are still doing tests mostly by post though x

Ah ok, I didn't think to ask for a postal one. Having said that though, when I enquired about a routine test, they didn't give me that option.

I’d be curious to know what the knock on effect to STI rates has been since March. Does anyone know?

I don’t personally know anyone who hasn’t been at least far more cautious this year - fewer (if any) meets, no group sex etc.

I feel it’s a tiny (but very publicised) minority who’ve carried on regardless - so has this had a positive effect on reducing STI numbers?

Figures from 2019 shown a rise in STIs across the board but especially in gonorrhoea with a rise of 28%. It would not be remiss to assume that those who have not practised safe sex in the past and contributed to these figures are going to change their habits due to a pandemic. I would add that those who continue to play through a pandemic have no regard for protecting themselves or others against the virus and would probably have the same attitude towards protected sex. All speculation of course.
