So, apparently insurers are using the virus as another reason to decline claims, saying you shouldnt be out and about anyway. Unless youre going to work, medical, or shopping. What about the fact we are actually allowed to go out as a household for excercise. Surely we are allowed to drive to recreation areas aswell

Fake news I’m pleased to say. peddled out by Daily Mirror and refuted by the insurance industry.

"Fake news I’m pleased to say. peddled out by Daily Mirror and refuted by the insurance industry. "

And of course we’ll take the insurance industry’s word on that!

My insurer direct line sent me a refund for unused mileage due to covid. I stated 10k p.a and covered 4k, rebated me on the lower usage

I’d believe the Insurance Industry over the Daily Mirror, however it’s up to you.

Two seconds on Google has found a statement from the insurance governing body that states that you will remain covered as noreal for both essential and non-essential travel.

Obviously the mirror are on message trying to 'encourage' (frighten) people to stay at home and out of their cars. At least we know what to do next time there's a shortage of bog roll

Or maybe they are just trying to sell more newspapers which can double up as bogroll.

Same here with Direct Line.....except it was such a meager amount they needn't have bothered. Despite me only having done a fraction of my usual miles during the first lockdown.

atlantisEVOLUTION Swingers Club. Stoke

Received an email from our insurer saying ignore this.

Had a £97 rebate for our second car during the first lockdown. Will most likely get the same after this one.
