"I dont see the relevance. All you who are noticing the roads being busy are obviously out there as well. People in their cars are no threat to anyone and quite possibly have more important reasons for being there than you do. " I do agree just being in the car isn’t a threat to anyone. But it’s curious how busy it is, FOMO for wherever people were going on Sunday.

"I dont see the relevance. All you who are noticing the roads being busy are obviously out there as well. I always wonder where people are rushing about to so urgently.

"Just reading on't news about car insurers potentially being able to decline claims from people on non essential journeys. Interesting." Sounds unlikely unless you are undertaking a business journey and that risk is not covered.

If connected to a business travel is allowed , otherwise we are in lockdown which means stay at home ...

I'm sure it varies from insurer to insurer, hence the might. All I know is that insurers like any opportunity to NOT pay out, like other insurance lenders

Why would they do that ? I think the clues in the NON ESSENTIAL part of stay at home . If you use your vehicle outside that perimeter and dont have a reasonable excuse then i agree that you should be fined.

"I just asked my insurer outright about insurance for essential Vs non essential journeys and they confirm no changes to the policy. My insurer is a specialist insurer for adapted vehicles, wheelchairs, mobility scooters etc. for disabled people, not a mainstream insurer not that this may make any difference at all."

We're WFH, so it's nursery and back. I might go and see my Dad (bubble) but not sure if I will yet. This weekend, I did the supermarket shopping by wheelchair - all carted back on the chair (back/footplate/dangling from my walking stick). I had my 3yo travelling on my knee.........

"Police can stop you and ask ... but you have no obligation to tell them, be kind and respectful. They will ready know if you have a licence, mot and insurance before you wind the window down" My work takes me along the south coast, the company gave me a letter stating the I am an essential worker. It is a pleasure to show the police that, they are usually quite cheerful as well.

Would you consider them a criminal if that person had the virus and spread it and killed it to someone you loved because they didn't want to stick to the rules?

"So we got back from France yesterday, driving over there you must have a completed permit to allow you to travel, the roads were virtually empty. Arrived Folkestone yesterday afternoon.. U.K. roads were noticeably very busy!!! I don’t think we are taking any notice of “essential travel only”!!" Is returning from France deemed " essential travel only"???
