Yeah I'll give it a go if it becomes available and it's not too big a load of bother having one. My guess is it will take ages for it to filter down to fit 50 somethings like me

Yes. Mostly because I have critically vulnerable people in my life who I need to protect.

For the same reason I started getting the flu jab a few years ago.... And from what I know (friends involved in the Oxford university research) the covid vaccines are likely to be far more effective than the flu jab.

I doubt it. As it's been rushed thru I would be concerned by the prospect of adverse side effects in the future. Also I would need to consider the potential for virus mutations rendering it not effective.

You do know the trials have gone horribly wrong up to yet with deaths and adverse side effects

And also I will let you lot take it first see what effects it has on you first I mean if bill gates and the rest of them won't actually take the vaccine then that should ring alarm bells

But you won't question that I suppose anyhow do your research see for yourself

For god's sake, do shut up about bill bloody gates. Again and again and again it has been proven he has nothing to do with Covid. The charitable foundation that bears his name may be providing some funding for some of the efforts, but they are not developing themselves, they are not forcing anyone to takes them and it's not a conspiracy. Some of us do actually do research on vaccines and check all the relevant medical papers, it's this tripe that gets continuously spread by people that don't know what they are talking about is what causes people to die, by not taking vaccines.

Unlikely as things stand. Especially as I've already recovered and it's looking like the new strain won't be covered by this vaccine

I'll review the safety and efficacy evidence at the time, as well as upcoming alternative vaccines, in conjunction with the health situation at the time.

Vaccination is for the greater good, to get herd immunity, once established, as well as personal protection. It's about giving up selfishness.

I'm expecting that I will probably have it, as the virus looks set to be here for a long time as a major threat to health and the economy

Which new strain? Is that the mutation via the mink?

Not sure see how it goes medium term.

Unless it becomes a travel stipulation then that would force my hand.

Yes, quite. Last time I checked, Bill Gates is not an immunologist or otherwise qualified in any medical research field. Neither are the myriad self-professed 'experts' who think that reading something on Wikipedia, HuffPost or Breitbart equals 'research'. It doesn't. Research is hard, and most people who don't want to have to think too much because it's also hard, don't do it.

When it passes appropriate safety and regulatory checks and it comes down to someone of my priority, I'll be queueing from dawn.

Doing my bit to get our lives back.
