I’ve recieved a email from the government telling me the highly advise me to shield during this second lockdown. Would I risk loosing my job as I had to shield during the first lockdown and I don’t want to risk losing my job?

It is advisory only as is the "work from home if you can". You need a discussion with your employer.

Yes, I got mine last night. The email was clear: if you can't work from home, you must not go to work. The email is to be used as evidence for claiming ssp.

I have received same letters for shielding

During first lockdown I received my shielding letter on 28th June (3 or 4 months too late)

the reason for shielding is that I have no spleen which was removed 1982 RTA

I have never shielded but I do take common sense precautions, it works for me

I government seldom gets things right, it is up to every individual to take ownership of their own lives.

I've got the email too. Last time i got my letter late as my GP messed up bigtime, so i didn't shield. I'm more nervous this time, very nervous in fact as we don't wear PPE at work and are rarely able to stay socially distanced. We have had cases at work although not in the bubble i work in. I'm not sure what to do as i don't want hassle at work.

Isn't anyone wondering why the mail came from the government, how would they know your email address, and not their G.P?

Not really, when you registered on the shielding support on the gov.uk website you supplied an email adress.

My GP has my email. They will have shared their data with govt.

I am on the shielding list. Last lockdown was tough. I was indoors from March to August and was mentally hard on me. I am luckily enough allowed to work from home in my role. I cannot wear a mask so my life has been extra hard.

There been lots of nasty comments on here that shielded need locking up to allow the rest to carry on as normal. Clearly they have not been though fortunately enough to be experience what a lockdown is like for a shielder.
