"2000 army testing door to door"

They are not going door to door though. You are not forced to get a test it is totally voluntary. So what rights have been given up?

NW Ambulance have declared a state of emergency last night, Liverpool Royal is the most strained Trust in the country and has already closed most elective services and made compromise to its oncology service.

What exactly is “beginning”, why is door to door testing as you seem to be suggesting a huge affront to your civil liberties?

When all’s said and done fella there’s thousands of people dying, some quite literally right now, some in beds in hospitals, some gradually deteriorating at home. There’s thousands of medical staff at absolute breaking point, thousands of business owners on the verge or going through the process of seeing their companies collapse, there’s many more thousands losing their jobs not knowing how they’ll look after their families....

And there’s you... some idiot kicking over the table because they might get asked to stick a cotton bud stuck up their nose. In honesty... grow the fuck up.

Snow flake liberal?

No, I’m a Liverpudlian by birth, I’m an ICU worker, As a former member of the British Army I’m unable to say I don’t believe in rare occasions of world history violence is required but I try to lead a totally peaceful life.

I don’t resort to ‘do as I say’, I’ve campaigned for LGBT rights having seen first hand discrimination throughout my life, the truth behind Hillsborough having been there. Despite your judgements if and when you turn up at my icu as a patient you’d also be cared for, your family would be treated with absolute respect and zero judgement.

Don’t judge me, use your energy to self assess instead... you’ll find there’s a lot more to work with in the search for positive change.

We have a new virus we're all susceptible to. We don't know enough about it yet. It's killing people. It's leaving others with medium to permanent complications.

Public health measures of isolation/quarantine, restrictions, masking and (where possible) testing have been in place for as much as centuries. We've just been fortunate not to experience it first hand before.

What’s the reason behind the ambulance state of emergency ? "

For the last 24hrs NWA went to major incident status that I believe has been stood down about an hour ago. Not because there was a major incident but purely based on the volume of calls, mainly I add from people with respiratory issues.

To put that in context, they requested people only contacted them for major emergencies, people didn’t contact them to ‘chase up their ambulance’. Call operators and crews most of which are working 12 hour shifts where requested to forego all breaks.

The reality for any of us working on the frontline is we are their to help, we share the desperation of families, wives, husbands, kids when someone who is the centre of their world is struggling to breath.

I hope you can respect I have to be quite careful in terms of patient confidentiality but I know my local crews well. I believe they delivered in over 30 patients to us last night, they had to leave 2 families with the sad news their Loved one was deceased. We aren’t talking about huge numbers of people here, 4 crews, 8 individuals dealt with that in a night. After each of the worst calls they will have had the joy of forgoing being stepped down for a period to collect their thoughts and instead rushing to the next household hoping to god unlike last time you aren’t arriving to late.

It’s a very hard situation to battle with when you are doing everything in your power to help someone but it isn’t enough. You do take some level of personal blame, you do wish you could have somehow managed to find a way despite how impossible it would have been.

To return to the OP, that’s why I have such a level of contempt for him, you need to realise there are hundreds of people in every tier III area fighting tooth and nail to help and more and more we are finding it’s futile at times. And there he is sat kicking off because of a fucking cotton bud, just to dispel the “snowflake liberal” tag I hope if he argues the toss on his doorstep some responsible squaddie puts him in a headlock and rams it in his nostril anyway.

People need to get a grip... civil liberties, get a fucking life, just do your fucking bit to help the masses, this has fuck all to do with some cat stroking Tory dictator wishing to take over the world.

I'm more of the traditional leftie snowflake school, but I see public health measures as helping my community. Who knew staying at home watching porn could be like helping a little old lady cross the road, eh? But it can, because if you're not out there to catch it and spread it, the risk to the little old lady goes down.

And having data on infection rates helps the powers that be use resources effectively (in theory).

In honesty... grow the fuck up."

What’s the reason behind the ambulance state of emergency ?

And here’s the rub... just in case you don’t get it, however hard last night was, in seven days time on our current, damage already done, trajectory, we will be dealing with twice this level of chaos... that’s the issue we face with Covid-19.

Thank fuck it’s mortality rate is so low, thank fuck it’s only a tiny fraction of the infected that need hospitalisation because that tiny fraction has already got us at breaking point.

Do you have proof of all these full hospitals and ambulances flying around everywhere

I go past three ambulance stations a few times everyday, there’s always at least three ambulances parked up and a few paramedic cars in each car park

I seem to be saying it a lot this year.

We have rights. Rights are not absolute. In some circumstances rights can be curtailed, including public health emergencies.

But we have rights *and responsibilities*. In these discussions we hear too little about our responsibilities.

Dear Nick,

Yes I do, I go to work in a few hours time and will be working for 14 hours due to my own teams current strains. I am actually spending the first part of my shift ensuring our now 4th ward extension is sanitised, and sealed off ready to accept covid-19 patients. I will also get to meet the 22 new additions to ICU who have arrived since my last shift over the weekend.

I would also like to dedicate a few minutes of my life to helping you and your understanding of the world.

I entitle this section “how an ambulance works”

Unlike the little one you may have had in your toy box growing up “big boy” ambulances need a few things before you can play with them:

They need petrol

They need sterile equipment

They need a big bag of drugs

They need oxygen

They quite often need a really big clean

They also need a helpful mechanic to check they aren’t about to break down

What we do is have what we call a fleet, it’s like having 2 ambulances in your toy box, one for you to play with and one for mummy to clean and get ready in case the one you’re playing with gets a bit too mucky.

Here’s a clue... next time you drive past, if there’s no ambulances parked up we have gone way beyond “the shit”.

I hope that’s helped your understanding... anyway, I must shoot... me and the rest of ICU need to brainstorm our next tiktok video before we start on shift tonight xxx

worrying to see the conspiracy theorists jumping on this so quickly.

fact is we are all going to have to comply with this soon. If we don't do it voluntarily then they will make it mandatory. They will enforce this by not allowing anyone who has not been tested to go into shops, government buildings or even places of work. That situation is coming anyway I think.

Liverpool is probably one of the luckiest places in the UK right now? because if they all agreed to get tested everyone would know/have a snapshot of things exactly as they stand. Sick people could be isolated and healthy people could literally go back to living a normal life. With virtually no restrictions of any kind. all the shops, pubs, gyms etc could reopen and life could begin again. Which is the reason I reckon they are doing this for anyway.

I am a bit frightened at the number of people who think they are somehow being controlled or tagged etc by the government .. this is not news ! we have all been like that for such a long time anyway ! most haven't realised it yet though!

The Sensible thing to do is stop whining and protesting just roll over open your legs wide and take it ! and that way we will all hopefully one day be able to enjoy life again ..

Yes. A snapshot of who's infectious could mean a short sharp lockdown of those people and their contacts. Then a much improved position.

Test trace isolate support is our way out before development of better therapeutics and/or widespread vaccination uptake. (Those who don't take the vaccine create holes in our defence)

And there’s you... some idiot kicking over the table because they might get asked to stick a cotton bud stuck up their nose. In honesty... grow the fuck up.

What’s the reason behind the ambulance state of emergency ?

just going to repaste this, because I can't think for myself & happen to agree with someone talking sense

Already discussed in other threads. We've not had a conspiracy 1 for a little while.

Do you want to stop the disease ruining lives and the economy? Voluntary testing can help to identify people who would have been spreading it around, leading to deaths.

How big do you think ICU wards are?

This is the tip of the iceberg though, for every 1-1 ratio bed there will be dozens of serious patients on the supporting wards too.

I believe I saw in the news a couple of weeks ago that Covid patients in Greater Manchester were having to be transferred due to capacity issues.

Whatever ICU capacity a hospital has, that's what the powers that be think will normally get them by. Maybe that's 8 in Blackpool.

ICU is *very very ill*.

Yup we have 6.6 beds per 100,000 (Including the additional provision within the Nightingale’s), most countries have between 10-15 just to put that in perspective.

Interestingly we have 10 ventilators per 100,000 yet Just over half the number of suitable beds/spaces to use them in.

With all due respect, mentality isn’t regional... the North’s issues are everything to do with population, numbers per household etc.

I’m in no way detracting from the fact the OP’s view in idiotic, but being Northern isn’t a relevant factor.

... That's the capacity of people who require round the clock multi staff care.

That's not a small number of people that seriously ill. And it means anyone else that ill might not get the care they need. It also means probably multiples of that just slightly less ill than holy fuck.

Whether the capacity is 8 or 80 000, if we exceed it, we're at various levels of screwed.

I’d take them very seriously having lived the dream to be honest. If you stick to Europe and wonder why we had such a higher death rate compared to France, Italy, Germany, Spain etc During the first wave... it had a heck of a lot to do with our provision and inability to ventilate certain patients at a much earlier stage.

I think the word scaremongering is wrong, reporting that capacity is full is just a true fact and one we should be concerned at however small.

I do agree on occasions journalism is poor, putting the context in place helps... for instance is this a covid ICU, what’s there separated ICU provision etc... who are the links in their local system?

Trafford General for instance is a decent sized hospital in Manchester, it’s ICU however is 4 beds and purely there to support its A&E. Their covid patients get transferred to us or Pennine Acute Trust so they aren’t really within the covid equation. Blackpool could be operating a similar policy.

"Do you have proof of all these full hospitals and ambulances flying around everywhere

I go past three ambulance stations a few times everyday, there’s always at least three ambulances parked up and a few paramedic cars in each car park

I hope that’s helped your understanding... anyway, I must shoot... me and the rest of ICU need to brainstorm our next tiktok video before we start on shift tonight xxx"

The strains from people isolating when healthy is a strain, healthy people weren’t staying at home last year.

Get a grip man. It's called news. I don't often watch news on any TV channel but can say I've never heard the headline on radio "2.8 billion people woke up fit and healthy but Mrs Jones at number 28 had a bad period".

The point of news is to inform people of important things or things of interest. I didn't hear the headline "Bobby Ball passed but Tommy Cannon, Michael Macintyre, Kate addie, Harry Caine and Troy Dempsey are fine" why not? Because it's of no interest to anybody as it's normal to be fine. It's not installing fear it's if interest to those that haven't got their heads up their own arses trying to find evidence that covid doesn't exist up there.

So don't watch the BBC. Don't watch the news. Look at the statistics.

I've been largely ignoring the news since April

Just because you don't like the media doesn't mean there isn't reason to worry.

I like to share our family experience of a hospital in birmingham, my aunty whos of 80 years of age was doing perfectly fine developed a infection in her troat, doctor put her on antibiotics for a few dys.but the infection didnt clear up so he advised for for hospital check up where they sid shes developed numonia, a few days after she became alot better and they was ready to send her home on 5.11.20. She had the best treatment given to her in this pandemic, only yesterday afternoon she died of a heart attack, and was seen after 2 hours knowing she had passed away,

We was informed about it and she did not have any ventilators or have any signs of covid, she was checked, but when we spoke to the consultant what the next stage was he said its a long process of whats going around, it could take 4 weeks for a post mortom to now the actual cause of death nd for her body to be released by the coroner or what u can do is have fast track, we asked whats that oh we can write on the death certification that she had covid 19, even though she didnt. To make our sufferings easier we had to go with that.

So the news that we keep hearing oh so n so many people have died of covid, well this is the game behind it, doctors are receiveing extra money into their wages for wrighting covid,

If covid is that dangerious amd serious why is the police not wearing masks, thry come right up to u, not waering one, plus 2 or 3 sit in car to gether, reality is its all a hype people are dyeing from natural causes and figures are getting adding as covid like in our case,

If any doctor did this, they would be committing a crime and would almost certainly be struck off. If this is what happened, you should immediately be reporting this. I can categorically tell you no, doctors are not being given a bung in their wages to write Covid on death certificates. If it was going to the coroner for autopsy then there were unexplained circumstances in the death.

What an utter crock of shit, even if this piece of fiction was written is English the number of flaws in your tale concerning the strict NHS protocol behind reporting deaths makes it impossible.

If you’re bored, play solitaire... making up this kind of crap is just pointless.

I was going to stop reading these threads.

However I have decided to continue as it's a constant reminder if needed why myself and my family need to be extra careful wearing masks, hand washing, gel social distancing ...

Reading some of these moronic and frankly ridiculous comments from people who are clearly one of the main reasons for the continued spread of the virus.

We are supposed to be a civilised society but it's become clear we are only a smartphone away from the ape's.

Whilst I have every sympathy for your loss, your last two paragraphs are absolute cobblers.

You show a woeful understanding of health care and the professional people who work within those sectors.

You show an even more woeful understanding of Covid 19.

How someone can be this ignorant given all we've learnt in the last few months, the wealth of accredited and attributable information that's freely available from reliable sources beggars belief.

Your last two paragraphs are right up there in the most ignorant and ill informed things I've read on these forums.

Please go and give your head a serious wobble.

So the news that we keep hearing oh so n so many people have died of covid, well this is the game behind it, doctors are receiveing extra money into their wages for wrighting covid,

If covid is that dangerious amd serious why is the police not wearing masks, thry come right up to u, not waering one, plus 2 or 3 sit in car to gether, reality is its all a hype people are dyeing from natural causes and figures are getting adding as covid like in our case, "

Oh you little tinker. You almost had me there. Then you started writing nonsense.

This is your experience yes, doctors are being paid a bonus for writing Covid as cause of death.....

I'd stay off the product if I was you.

So do the doctors get a covid bonus on their payslip? I have to marvel how the same covid urban myths are the same in different countries.

Of course its a govement game thats been played, not long ago they had the eat out scheme if u new the virus is that bad why on earth was u sending people our n encourgeing them to go eat cause u wanted to put a national lockdown again, in march they already started saying october will be another lockdown, wow uve already pre planed it cases are gno go high in march for october, abroard in my country theirs no such thing a as covid, they played their dirty game in march april, now 7 months on no signs of corono, people come go .no masks,

So let me get it right, the govt is promoting the spread of the Virus to justify another lockdown and doctors are getting a financial bonus to falsify the causes of death? "

Well, when you put it like that, it does sound kinda silly doesn't it.

"NW Ambulance have declared a state of emergency last night, Liverpool Royal is the most strained Trust in the country and has already closed most elective services and made compromise to its oncology service.

In honesty... grow the fuck up."

Totally agree! Very well said! The only people who don's see it, or won't see it are the UTTERLY SELFISH with a defiant childish attitude. Civil Liberties are not being taking away FFS. People need to see that they may not have a life if something isn't done and should the virus mutate!

Taking preventative action is actually caring NOT taking away freedom FFS

Tell the people who have lost loved ones who work in the front line of NHS your freedom is being taken away. You may need NHS for the bruises.

These people are just so invulnerable and probably not suffered by loosing someone.
