"Why" Mass testing will identify asymptomatic, if all who are tested positive then isolate the ones who are negative can crack on.. It removes a lot of the virus from the local community..

"On another note, it would be fantastic if those testing negative could go to the gym! lol Yes, yes, I know, the test is only good on the day it was taken, but a gal can dream lol " Dream.... imagine if they tested a whole town, answers back that day, you have it you isolate and those you live with, could we make a town covid free ? If so, one town or more at a time and everyone stays within their town boundaries My thoughts anyway

"Entire city to be tested by the army apparently (if you want one) Going to be rolled out if successful." With the huge numbers of people now being tested, (up to 500k per day) shouldn't there be an intelligent way of bringing a more normal social experience for some people? Shouldn't we be making more use of the 250k people a day who are testing negative? I mean for people who have already had it... Well they can socialise and work as they aren't infectious after 28 days. And for people who have tested negative... They can socialise and work because they are negative. Aren't we now getting to a big enough number of people that for some, they should be allowed "out"? Obviously they will need some kind of identification... An app on their phone or something... But locking down 1m (or however many the number is) people who are now safe for 3 months seems unnecessarily clumsy. Surely the boffins can come up with something a bit more nuanced with the limitless resources they have had than ... Lock everybody down.

Will all tests be instant results? For those which are PCR based, what's the lab turn around time? How quickly will the person be notified about their test results. How effective is track and trace going to be for contact tracing? Until you have sampled an entire post code, you cannot really say what proportion of the population is negative or positive. You'll also have to restrict movement between Council Districts as much as possible. All in all, this will help us get results, band a better picture in the community, but normal socialising isn't going to be a thing till case numbers drop off.

Staff in Liverpool city centre were told anyone coming into town (Liverpool city centre) can go for any of the tests, although I did wonder about giving blood outside St John's I My G.P is also in Liverpool itself, I'm kinda wishing I'd booked my blood donation in the city centre now, I booked it next week but at Aintree. Be interesting to see squadies in the city. Friday we should know some more
