What I still don't understand is how it's northern territory getting out in to tier 3, and how the stats show that we have the higher cases but when you look at our high Street, they are empty and the few people there are wearing masks.

Whereas London has a denser population, evidence and pictures of londoners not following advice and a higher number of people using public transport. It baffles me.

Maybe mixing in houses. Makes shutting pubs pointless if that's true though.

As a past Heath minister, he understands the numbers and health implications, far better than Hancock, ever has. How Handincock has keeper his job, after failure, after failure, god only knows. It’s Burnham’s elected duty to defend the people of Manchester from a failed economic and health policies of a failing government. This is not party politics, but local governments not kowtowing to a government with no plan and obviously no idea as to how to handle this pandemic. This is going to be a flavour of things to come, of people and local governments standing up to ineptitude!!

"

They wanted a totally costed 90 million to see them through until april...Burnham come down to the bare bones at 65 million, gmnt would only go to 60 million...then closed the door on negotiating and give them 22 million. Cost per head around half of what has been given to other tier 3 regions.

Fucking joke.

£22 mil is for expenses such as local enforcement and test and trace. The £60 mil is still there if Burnham chooses to take it as well. On top of that is the job support scheme.

Thats the correct situation, despite Labour's Jonathan Ashworth saying otherwise in the HoC.

Apparently the £60 is still 'on the table'which makes mo sense.

If they have enforced the lockdown why not just give them the money?

Of course it's just the gmnts word that it's still there..and we know how trustworthy they are .

But the pubs aren't shut. They can be open to serve drink if accompanying a meal.

Conclusion: The virus is too frightened to go near food so you can't get infected in a pub selling food.

You can't meet in a private garden but you can meet in a group of six in the street.

Conclusion: The virus is intelligent enough to be able to count and is afraid of the public highway.

Previously pubs had to close at 10pm to stop the spread of the virus.

Conclusion: The virus only comes out after dark.

Only get tested if you are showing symptoms. If you have no symptoms do not get tested to avoid putting strain on the system.

Conclusion: Asymptomatic carriers of the virus ease the burden on the system thus allowing more testing capacity for the people they infect.

WHERE IS THE LOGIC AND THE SCIENCE BEHIND THESE MEASURES?

Earlier Boris was complaining that he couldn't afford to live on his MPs salary of £150,000 pounds. He is happy however for those on minimum wage to live on 67% of their income.

Just for the record, someone on minimum wage would need to work in excess of 330 hours per week to make what Boris gets paid. Oh and by the way if you take into account a 7 day week.....24x7=168 hours.

How can this government claim to represent anyone but themselves.

Can I ask what about boris appealed to you so much?

His inability to string a sentence together, his unerring ability to put his foot in his mouth or the fact that is in capable of answering basic questions?

"As a past Heath minister, he understands the numbers and health implications, far better than Hancock, ever has.

"What I still don't understand is how it's northern territory getting out in to tier 3, and how the stats show that we have the higher cases but when you look at our high Street, they are empty and the few people there are wearing masks.

Whereas London has a denser population, evidence and pictures of londoners not following advice and a higher number of people using public transport. It baffles me. "

South had far lower infections when schools

Opened so we had the buffer. First wave hit us first and then north so we had progressed further. Had schools in the north gone back three weeks later I suspect you would have the infection rates you have got.

Sad for the hundreds of thousands of kids with not enough to eat yes, sad for the millions of people not getting the healthcare they need due to a decade of cuts yes, sad for hundreds and thousands of special needs kids who are out of the system as education funding has been decimated yes.

What do expect when Andy Burnham and others at his press conference on national TV stand proximately 18 inches apart and even closer at times.

That shows the residents of Greater Manchester it is OK for them to ignore social distancing. The man doesn't have the brains he was born with.
