"Read what the app can do and what it does with your data. Then read what specific data, from what source, may be shared with the police amongst others. This is a non-story. There's a problem for all of us if people don't isolate for the appropriate time period. The law requires them to and they may be fined. It's not app data doing this " There's a problem for us all if people stop testing.

"The feds have been given our data on the NHS app Fuck that... Deleted" I'm not sure about "The Feds" but it has been announced that our very own police will be told on a case by case basis if someone has been instructed to self isolate. What that means that if a person is suspected by the police of being told to isolate, the police can ask the holders of the data whether you have been told to isolate. Uninstalling the app just suggests that you wouldn't conform if told to isolate. Cal

Unless you have no social media, no mobile phone, no computer, no bank account, no NHS number, no NI number, no car insurance, and mortgage or other financial agreements, the 'Feds' already know everything about you. Apart from possibly if you went to Wetherspoons last night. Oh no they'd get that from the CCTV and your phone! We live in a world full of technology used to record and track us and our preferences, at least the NHS app has a useful purpose!

So far as fines go. Anyone selfish enough to risk spreading a potentially fatal virus, deserves a big fine that actually impacts on them.

It's not exactly a concentration campus it? I thinks it's actually highly insulting to anyone who does have restricted freedom, or has fought hard for their rights. Sometimes a step back and a little perspective does wonders for us all

It's not a big stretch for that to extend to other public places while this is happening. We've been to VA and Xtasia and scanned into both, don't see a problem with it. If this was just the UK, or EU with sets of restrictions like this, I'd see the concern. When, ever, have all the governments of the world agreed on anything? If it's some sort of conspiracy, then every government on earth is in on it. And what do they gain that they didn't have already? Nothing. If we follow the conspiracy theory through logically, surely 'they' already have all out info? Food for thought

"I had to have a little giggle to myself when i read this thread. It's typical of all the misinformation that has and is being spread about mainly over the internet about Covid. The police being asked to enforce quarantine rules has absolutely nothing to do with the NHS app. It is for people that have been rung by Track and Trace and told that they have had a positive result from an actual test and then asked to self isolate. Once again, a case of "internet warriors" getting on their high horse and going off half cocked." Yup. Said exactly the same above - but the CON-spiracy folks just don't even hear it. Once again, a case of "internet warriors" getting on their high horse and going off half cocked." Exactly. Misinformation and Paranoia are actually the biggest threat to our civil liberties.

It didn't fall under the bar bill, however they chose to close at 10 to bring it in line with the rest so people wouldn't feel it was one rule for one and another for them, but in reality it didn't break any covid laws as it had a completely different license.

Yes even the threat of police snooping, knocking at your door etc, and up to £10,000 fine, will now unfortunately stop some being tested in the first place. am not saying it's logical just saying that ,as the op says will be the consequence...some people are not keen on the police..

There is only one truth, it's part of the description. Whether any of us know it is another thing entirely. All we can do is decide on our threshold for evidence when we state something as 'fact' or 'truth'. The pandemic has given rise to a lot of opinions dressed as facts, with little to no substantive evidence. I think most reasonable people are happy to have different opinions than others. What grates, is when the other opinion is clearly utter non sense that can't be supported. Amazingly, when challenged, a lot of the sources of these truths reframe the conversation to other topics rather than debate the facts of the subject at hand. "Yes and everyone is entitled to their opinion.. a" You certainly are, however you cannot conflate your opinions with facts, and you certainly can't have your own facts.

FACT " No. Actually go back to the OP (your OP) you said . . . The feds have been given our data on the NHS app Fuck that... Deleted Many people here said . . . the app does not report on you. Track and Trace ONLY know about YOU when YOU present yourself and are found positive . . .the POLICE (if they get a report that you have broken isolation) can check with track and trace to see if you are supposed to be isolating. And then those people said you have deleted the app without understanding how it works properly.

"Let me put it another way... Two cars race ... One car is from America.. One is from the old USSR.. Two papers report the result.. USA today.. The Americans beat the Russians in the car rally The Soviet Weekly The Russians came second and the USA next to last.. So what is the truth.. ? " Let me put it like this. Try to rely on credible news sources without an obvious bias or agenda. Corroboration of reported events will assist you. Truth is the property of being in accord with fact or reality, or truth is usually held to be the opposite of falsity. I hope you don't have problems discerning reality.

"To try and round this off, we're all guilty of being passionate about what we believe, even if we're wrong. It's good to see people fighting for their opinions in a public forum, debate and opinions can often improve everyone's understanding, which can't be a bad thing. I hope everyone is having a good day and an even better evening "

"The point is this... I don't need an app to self isolate.. Especially a flawed one.. Having to sign in at pubs, restaurants and shops... How comfy will some be when the swingers club reopen and you put your QR code reader on... These are scary times.. " I'm fine with that

"The point is this... I don't need an app to self isolate.. Especially a flawed one.. Having to sign in at pubs, restaurants and shops... How comfy will some be when the swingers club reopen and you put your QR code reader on... These are scary times.. We have to sign into hotels, gyms etc when we arrive. Food for thought "

"The feds have been given our data on the NHS app Fuck that... Deleted I'm not sure about "The Feds" but it has been announced that our very own police will be told on a case by case basis if someone has been instructed to self isolate. What that means that if a person is suspected by the police of being told to isolate, the police can ask the holders of the data whether you have been told to isolate. Uninstalling the app just suggests that you wouldn't conform if told to isolate. Cal They can fine me for not self isolating but they can't fine me for not installing the app. Freedoms were hard fought and easily lost.. I don't trust these buggers not to mission creep. But I know the, 'if you have nothing to hide brigade' will be out in force... I'm not sure that uninstalling an app can really be classed as "fighting hard", and I'm not sure the freedom of "not isolating when potentially a public health risk" is worth fighting for. Cal I'm a curious sort, so I'd love to hear what 'hard fought' entailed and also what freedoms exactly have been lost? We're being asked to wear masks, stay at home and reduce contact with people. It's not exactly a concentration campus it? I thinks it's actually highly insulting to anyone who does have restricted freedom, or has fought hard for their rights. Sometimes a step back and a little perspective does wonders for us all " Love this.... Dead heads wake up!!! It's going to be a long winter.

"No..your freedoms Mine? They're ok ta.. Certainly won't be affected by by you deleting an app.. But if they want to watch you... Psst Tom, that phone thingie.. That's how anyone can 'watch you', target you with adverts after you do a search, locate you using the same tech.. You don't need to have someone given access to an app.." This
