Well every vaccination carries a risk of latrogenic reaction.

You are letting an experimental drug be tested on you. Once in you there's nothing you can do. I personally know of someone who took part in trials, for another experimental drug, and their personality changes beyond all recognition.

And I am from a science background.

Don't do it. Really. Don't.

Its personal choice and i respect that. I assume you would have a licensed vaccine. We have no idea of the effect on fertility that covid has. Thalidomide also wasn't a vaccine. The safety bar for a vaccine is a lot higher than general medicines.

I heard a public health expert say that ACE2, where the virus gains access into cells, are most prevalent in fallopian tubes and testes.

So that makes it alright? Would you associate with Jeff epstien after being locked up for his crimes or would you walk in the opposite direction to totally distance yourself from a monster like him? Would you trust someone that mixes in the epstien circles?

Be it trump, clinton or whoever you choose... Personally I would steer well clear and sign zero deals and make zero visits to his properties.... But that's just me

All drug clinical trials carry a certain amount of risk. The risk is non-zero but the majority of trials are successfully concluded without any issues.

By taking part in a clinical trial you are helping society and often paid for it as well. Furthermore, in phase I trials the volunteers are carefully monitored in a hospital so it's a way to get a detailed and free medical checkup.

For the consipracy mongers, here's the thing: A drug can pass every clinical trials and be approved but that does that mean it's safe. The side effects may not have been picked up but become apparent when the drug is given to the general population. There are drugs on the market that have had to be withdrawn after years of use. So, when we eventually get a Covid vaccine approved, it's still an experimental drug and we won't know all the risks/benefits until it's given to a large number of people.

"Can a person sue the drug company if the vaccine has a detrimental effect on the health of a family or individual? "

If it's during a trial, no, because you will have signed liability forms waiving responsibility.

Once a drug is on the market, yes, you can sue the manufacturer but these are complex court cases often involving mass litigation in the US. Takeda, for example, paid over $2 billion for not publicising the potential cancer risk of its antidiabetic drug pioglitazone.

Have been part of the Cambridge trial for over 3 months.

Despite the views of Mr Toffee Wrapper (aren’t they made out of tin foil?) the testing of any medications/vaccines are stringently measured. To be blunt, you have a greater chance of being hit by a bus and having COVID put on your death certificate than suffering long term side effects from it. The U.K. drug testing industry has proven this over decades of widespread research programs.

My view is quite simple, I’ve had covid once, I believe if there is a chance of reinfection it keeps me safer as I have no idea of any weakening from my original illness. It also gives me greater confidence in protecting my parents from inadvertently infecting them as members of a high risk age group.

If/when a vaccine is widespread people should realise the scale of operation required to vaccinate a country of our size. I believe whatever process is undertaken you’ll be looking at years before the nation would have immunity, I’d guess for me I’d be viewed as a far lesser priority compared to much of the population so in a way the opportunity has allowed me to jump the queue.
