I was chosen by random, did the little test kit and results were negative, never had either of the two covid antibodies the test looks for.

I was tested in July, negative.

I do know people that tested positive for antibodies without being aware they'd had Covid.

Thanks everyone for response, I drive suspect covid-19 patients for testing, in specific vehicles designed for this, as well as drive Renal and all other patients to/from hospital

I completed the test requirements last week but still no word of antibody test

they said 5 - 14 day wait.

I’d like to be tested as I would love to help by donating my plasma if I did ever have it.

How do I go about getting one done?

You can get a private one through Bupa, about £65

Am I right in thinking only a blood test will be able to test for the anti bodies or am I wrong

My understanding is that the finger prick test, that I done at home for a survey, is not 100% accurate, so it's best to have blood drawn at a clinic

I've had it done at work (negative) but it's only valid from before it's taken of course. Must have had it well more than a month ago now.

Same here Lorna. My sister in law and her husband had the virus in March, up until their last test last month, they are still testing positive for antibodies.

This is the problem

There probably millions out there who have had the virus and not known they had it

Until we get a mass speedy antibody test we will never know the full extent of this

Indications show that it is widespread but just how widespread still isn't known.

The IPSOS/imperial college study gives the government some idea of the countrywide antibody level. I have had a swab test but they do antibody tests too.

No it’s restricted to a few groups currently. I have a test on the way. Although anyone can be selected at random to do a test for research.

I had to do a finger prick test, damned hard getting a blood drop in that well! My test looked like something from a crime scene on CSI! Thank God for the little straw in the kit!

Tested positive for antibodies in June after having unconfirmed covis in April. Mr KC tested negative. I waited 7 days for my results.

I wasn't able to give plasma as my veins weren't large enough- probably the only thing about me that isn't large!!

Now have long covid but I'm here which is all.good when so many haven't survived
