Personally if they are going to allow pubs and restaurants to be open then it should be without curfew as all it is doing is making people start drinking earlier, 5pm and some people we blotto, and a curfew just creates crowds of people.

It's not making people do anything. People are choosing to be twats.

I agree, they should have extended the hours and decreased capacity inside.

So people leaving at the time they have to by law are twats? Anyone with an ounce of sense could see that a blanket 10pm close time would cause crowds on the streets specifically in city centres as all those people try to get home. Let establishments all close at their usual times, all which vary from place to place, and the problem with be reduced

The "twats" aren't going home tho....they are hitting the off licences and supermarkets and having street piss-ups. They don't have to....they choose to!

Central

The government wants to protect businesses somewhat, whilst keeping blame away from themselves. What better way than their old favourite, divide and conquer. Its latest incarnation being the young and people who want a little relief from the harder life that many have had over the last few months. They weren't planning to close their own bars etc, until it was raised.

I know some pubs where pre-booked tables are rigidly enforced as the only place you will remain whilst in the venue, even if alone. They should probably encourage masks and allow a little interaction.

The 10pm curfew was rightly criticised as inappropriate by the Manchester and other Mayors, as inviting trouble.

It also discriminates against those bars that were later night venues, where you'd not find anyone much before 10pm, if they were even open.

It would be better if they did actually follow the scientific evidence, rather than pretending to.

We should allow people to wetsuits, showered beforehand, to mingle more closely, if they are completely masked - if this is scientifically researched first. My wet bar opens shortly after

That's far too logical. This is our government you are talking about. Since when has logic been their strong point lol?!
