Global deaths will hit 1,000,000

That's more than the annual flu deaths in a really bad year.

All in 6 months with a lockdown.

Winter is on its way so no hope of the virus easing off during warmer weather.

A bad winter flu will put a strain on NHS and potentially increase covid deaths further.

Agreed, we are perhaps 2-3 weeks from 100 deaths a week and that is now irreversible... we are also likely to still be increasing infection rates in the next weeks with current measures. The next 2 months could be absolutely horrific if we aren’t careful. :/

And they will continue to do that, until they are impacted by a death in their family....maybe...

It really is terrible. I hope we find a vaccine soon. And people take it.

Yet we see the likes of Icke and protesters wanting freedom to do their own thing

I like the idea of training more sniffer dogs to detect it, which could be deployed at large scale, reserving many tests for those found by the dogs.

The flu in the Australian winter this year has been incredibly low, probably due to the measures taken against this virus. With luck, this will be the same here. Perhaps not in the USA though

maybe so if we had done great and the southern hemisphere had been haemorrhaging through their winter and it was about to flip but europe who have performed pretty poorly are about to hit winter where we expect numbers to rise and australia and new zealand who have contained it well are about to hit their summer where we would expect number to be lower

Do you remember HIV? HIV never killed a soul... it just took your body to a point of ruin where the common cold killed you, just saying.

As sad as it is we must accept that part of living is dying. Mother nature is a cruel mistress and will control the numbers of any species, including human beings. In nature it has always been the case of survival of the fittest, it has to be that way. But the human race is arrogant and thinks that this does not apply to them and that they can cure all. Mother nature is giving the human race a little wake up call but will we take note??? We think not.

So we should just give up and let everybody die of anything, appears to be the gist of what you're saying here.

I’m 50/50 on this ... its true that we are arrogant to think we are smarter that nature, that we have advanced enough to be entitled to survive anything ... no other species has that arrogance and the circle of life is just that

however we wouldn’t be human if we didn’t try everything we could to try to save as many as possible... it’s the moral thing to do

Yes, of course I realise that but do you realise that the Northern Hemisphere is home to approximately 6.57 billion people which is around 90% of the earth's total human population of 7.3 billion people...

Due to battling a common cold, I am sure more people will greatly increase their risk of getting covid. So you 100 deaths a day could be a bit low, I truly hope I am wrong.
