I received an Experimental RSP Test today.

It's from Medusa 19. It's an Antibody test.

'Rapid Saliva Protein Test MEDUSA 19'

As the title suggests it doesn't use Blood as a sample source and only takes 10 minutes to get the result. Much like a pregnancy device there is a plastic sample holder that will display up to 3 stripes - one denotes Negative - the two other denotes Positive/s.

'Medusa 19 says its "non-invasive" test only takes a sample of saliva to indicate a person's immune response to SARS-CoV-2 - and is intended particularly for those who do not know if they have an active infection - and have no specific symptoms'.

It says do without food or drink after waking for best results - Already past that today. So I will do the test tomorrow.

But things are moving on quickly in the testing field - already they are talking about Electronic Devices which will test in just 90 seconds.

Should have added . . .

Independent clinical trials have produced 94% accuracy.

And they say they can do up to 100m tests a month. Simply because it's not Lab reliant.

The only issue is that antibodies don't last that long in most people, but if it's cheap and reliable every bit helps

Recent research reports that they are finding anti-bodies at least four months after infection and that everything indicates that it will be longer term - especially in those that were very sick or in an older age group.

I posted this a few days ago.

I think it varies hugely, we know a girl who is a ICU nurse in great ormand street, she and her flat caught it skiing in France, they were both tested positve and were antibody tested as part of a trial, one had good levels for three months then they dropped of a cliff, the other never tested positve for antibodies despite being a confirmed case .

Also another forum I'm on has a chap who works in a nhs lab in Leicester, he was giving plasma for several months due to very high levels of antibodies but his have gone completely now.

This may be totally normal.for Corona viruses as I doubt anyone has studied it before, of course T cells may give long term protection, it certainly appears the higher level of infection the higher level of antibodies which would be expected I would have thought

I had positive antibodies a month ago, almost 5 months after I had Covid, yet my illness was incredibly mild indeed.

If that's really true, how will a vaccine work?

In any case we know for a fact antibodies are still around at least 6 months after infection....had the test.

As I said it varies, the cases I quoted are nhs workers who are all being studied.

There is a vaccine against some animal Corona viruses but not sure any human ones, certainly not against the common cold, I guess it will depend on how it mutates and how fast and often. We can but hope that the hugs effort being put into it works
