Not watched it. I got my first paid work since February this week. I'm an agency worker and didn't qualify for furlough, so have been living off my saving since then.

Another full lockdown and I'm going to be looking for somewhere else to live

Don't worry you will be remembered when it is time to pay the money back.

The same people who keep slipping through the cracks will be the ones expected to pay it back through increased CT and dividend tax.

Fingers crossed for you!

They are basically willing to help employers bring back workers on short time.

I have just called Barclaycard twice and was cut off twice after 40 minutes of waiting. Got hold of Halifax after 45 minutes.

Telephone support staff are in short supply in regard to demand. It is also work that can be done from home.

Why are institutions not employing more people when there is increased demand? Surely in this time if there is a need for more workers we should be employing them?

Well I'd expect there to be quite a few job losses, as to share a job between 2 people it will cost the employer 33% more than just having the 1 person doing the job full time...

They could use David and Linda with their broad Indian accents who ring to help me fix my internet.

But then 2 people can share the same keyboard/desk/tools and help us achieve herd immunity like Sweden *duck*

I've thought this while on hold a number of times the last few months.

I think these company's would have to employ more people that way and spend more money, it's the last thing these company's want. Ultimately they don't care about the customers that way, as we can't get through to cancel the service anyway

I was actually calling Barclaycard to tell them where they could shove their piece of plastic... I am still their customer on the grounds that I am unable to terminate our relationship.
