"Good morning I could do with some immediate advice. When do you know if your small cough (happening more so at night and occasionally through day last few days) is just the usual flu cough of this time of year/ COVID symptoms? I don’t have any of the other symptoms listed. I am in a job where if I don’t go in I am letting a considerable amount of people down and the knock on impact is immense. However, I also realise the knock on impact that if I have COVID is much worse. This is a genuine question as I know so many of us with flu season starting may begin with similar symptoms. Supportive advice welcomed please Mrs P" Yeah a dilemna lots will be in. My son had the same. Rather than risk shutting down his school I got him tested and was negative. I don't think you'd be letting your work mates down by taking a few days to make sure you're just autumn cough cold... Which they wouldn't want either.

I, too, have had your symptoms with no others, and it's nothing but I cannot advise you yours is. What I will say is keep an eye on your temperature. In the meantime raise the head of your bed (eg books under the feet) so your bed is tipped. If not, get more pillows. Try to raise head and chest between 30 to 45 degrees. It may ease the night time cough.

"I have had a hayfever cough for ages, it gets fucking annoying when you are coughing so badly that you need to remove your mask to catch a breath. It is brilliant for social distancing though, no bugger wants to be near me " Lol same here
