But this isn’t my question...

Is it now the time to abandon Brexit and concentrate our efforts in fighting this virus ?

Our economy is a bit of a mess, surely trying to stand alone at a time when we need to work together to battle this horrible virus is a bad idea??

As someone who voted to remain and thinks it was a stupid nigh on incompetent question to ask the country and that it will be a fudge etc I say leave it..

Let's focus on trying to get back to some sort of normal..

Adding another element at this time will only further complicate and possibly hinder the attempts albeit woeful at times to get this under some sort of managed control..

Let’s get some focus on the fact that thousands of children are living below the poverty line while there are more billion and trillionaires than ever. Remove the selfish attitude sort out childcare a real living wage and stop allowing the elite in this country to fuck then rest of us over.

We were the 2nd biggest net contributor to the eu coffers and imported 60% more than exported to the eu its really not rocket science.

It would be the mark of significant maturity and wisdom, if we would be willing to admit that something may have to slide, in order to invest in the wellbeing of the people. It's fine to have principles and goals based on them but even better to be able to be flexible and possibly lose something that you may have gained.

The epidemic is not just something affecting us, so it wouldn't be viewed universally as a selfish demand, as there could be mutual benefit.

We've left the EU but remain in the transitional period. I would admire a leader who had fought for the opposite, to request understanding and consideration for an extension on compassionate grounds.

It would also likely cushion every state from immediately successive avoidable disruption from possible severe winter virus catastrophe and disruption from incomplete deals being negotiated, with consequent impacts.

I agree with some of it... Stronger together.

But unless I've completely lost the plot brexit has happened... There is no abandoning it. The move would be to request readmission to the Franco German alliance. And they would never allow that. The quality of diplomacy shown by the EU has been appalling.... And only marginally worse than our own.

Nope we are on our own. We need to put on our big boy pants and deal with it ourselves. And we are more than capable of doing so. What I would love to see is a unity government for this time of emergency. Between them they might just about be able to scrape up enough decent and capable ministers.

The eu is a basket case. The sooner we're rid if it and stop propping them up the better.

I find this question a bit like “shall we have on last jäger bomb” on my usual nights out in the village...

The reality is Brexit is a car crash but we already have a pileup so it probably won’t make the morning after too much worst.

Is it now the time to abandon Brexit and concentrate our efforts in fighting this virus ?

Our economy is a bit of a mess, surely trying to stand alone at a time when we need to work together to battle this horrible virus is a bad idea??
