Whilst on a quick shopping trip yesterday I noticed dozens of teenagers hanging about a very public area in the middle of my local town completely disregarding any social distancing rules. No authorities in sight. Have I solved the mystery of the virus spread? Has the government not spotted this loophole in their plans?

No you haven't solved it.. tbh each time we isolate/ go in to lockdown numbers will lower but as soon as we mingle again numbers will naturally rise. Plus testing was sparce so numbers didn't really show how many had truly got it. Now testing is happening more its showing more positives but in reality its just the same. I think we need to get on with life

I think the death rate is more important than the positive tests rate.

nope. If you walk along Hastings seafront you will see lots of old people hanging around in groups with no regard for social distancing.

If you go in any supermarket you'll see loads of middle aged people who think a mask makes them invincible.

I also think we need to get on with life. Hence my shopping trip. My own daughter is now past this stage and has been incredibly responsible towards my safety(I'm in the high risk group) I just wonder how many of the kids are killing off their grandparents and other vulnerable members of their families without even realising it? We'll all suffer if we have yet another nationwide lockdown so shouldn't more be being done to educate these unthinking youngsters?

Extremely unfair to blame teenagers when actually all ages are guilty to a degree! Teenagers are given very mixed messages, they are expected to be in a class with up to 30 others each school period with no social distancing (because at our school it is not possible) then when they leave the school gates they can’t meet anymore than one friend from another household

So it's the government's fault that teenagers are hanging around in breach of common sense guidelines?

Couldn't possibly be the parents of the teenagers who haven't brought them up to follow sensible guidelines or haven't told them to stay distant?or have no clue where they are or what they are up to and with whom? Or God forbid the teens themselves?

No... Blame the govt.

I'm not blaming anyone in particular. I just don't understand why no police were at least in attendance advising them on better more responsible behaviour as it was such a public area?

Rules ain't laws and the right to assembly is a law.

What evidence is there that this weaponized phrase social distancing has made any difference? None.

Authorities in sight. To do what?

Behave like the stasi?

Ffs it gets worse.

Thankfully old Nigel has broken cover and said enough is enough .

Come on the remoaners come and get me

Is hard enough for the police to get some people to comply with well understood laws... trying to enforce guidance amongst those who do not understand or do not wish too.. good luck with that Push too hard and some who think they know better will revolt If I had to police this I wouldn’t be a police officer for long, I would be dismissed 1st day for excessive use of taser!

Central

The virus today is virtually the same as it was back in the spring. High infection levels ultimately mean more people who have more substantial negative symptoms and complications but they will lag, after the younger and healthier get it, before passing it on.
