Everyone seems to have a cold

Ive got one. People i work with seem to be ill, passed a few in tesco this morning sniffing and coughing away. This cold doesn't seem to respect masks or increased hand washing! What's going on? I haven't stood in crowds, or been to a pub.

We have had it, family have had it shows masks and gloves are a waste of time

My daughter has just returned to school and has a cold already. I think the kids are spreading it to their families, I'm sniffly now and we're wearing masks and hand washing... It happens..

Children have gone back to school. If happens every year. However this year we haven't had exposure for 6 months so it's happening quicker

If the level of masking in Tesco here is in line with where you are - and can be extrapolated to hand-washing - then very little of either is going on. So colds etc are no surprise.

Masks will do nothing if you keep forgetting to wash your hands before eating, picking your nose ect.

Masks just cut down on the spray from your mouth and nose but nothing is 100% it just mitigates the possibility of you passing it on.

Much like a condom not a 100% protection

Nasty head cold for all of us

I did at least keep my kid off school. His friends coughing and spluttering were not sent home so there goes his attendance award

Flu ratez in places such as Australia, through their winter, have been minimal, likely due to the measures adopted by the people there, including masks, distancing, hygiene etc.

With some luck and adherence to good similar approaches here, we may also reduce infection ratez of other illnessez here this winter too
