Funny because on sky news at lunch time he wouldn’t be drawn on if and when there would be a National lockdown.

With the end of furlough around the corner, the gov can't afford another national lockdown, most they will do is force pubs to shut at ten, and try to stop folks going to other folks houses, good luck with that, may have worked in March but not a chance now,

Didn't happen in any of the places where restrictions have been in place, what gives you the idea it will do soon..?

There have of course been real consequences sadly for over 40,000 people and their loved ones and real hardship for many with employment and businessess but please we are talking about minor inconvenience for most of us..

If being able to stay in the pub past ten pm is all some people have got to worry about then they are pretty lucky and should be thankful imho ..

just go to the pub earlier as nights coming earlier it's not a problem.

We made a point of supporting our local as have others when in full lockdown as they were doing a takeaway service..

He's just setting the idea of that it could happen, tbh I think the majority of the ones who want to, will self isolate their homes from others anyway, we can't control anyones actions bar our own, but I can keep them away from my house and myself and thats my choice to make.

Bottom line is, in March the was 99% public good will for the lockdown,

Now, that's all gone, covid cases or no covid cases,

I listen to the phone ins every night and folks on both sides are dug in.

There's actually more angst over this than there was about Brexit, and that's going some.

I think a lot of this is still them trying to look like they have it under control, when they aren't sure what to do, dithering between protecting business or health.

The virus is pretty much the same as it was in the spring, the difference now is that the big part of this surge isn't people who will need the levels of hospital treatment that spring did. Once they pasz it on, it will likely affect a broader range of people who may. Unless travel is restricted much, extending areas to become national, won't have the same impact levels on people or infection levels.

Government talk of all options open is headlines bait and lets them dither more, which they have form for

It will just be a nationwide stop mixing of households for a couple of weeks. Maybe some pubs will close for a few weeks or reduced hours. We'd have to be in a dire situation for another full don't leave you house scenario. That would pretty much wipe out the economy so Boris won't do that.
