No. We should not be panicking again. Think back to March with people panic buying, etc.

What we need is a new 3 line haiku catch phrase...

The old one doesn't get a mention... "stay alert" poetry will fix it...

"I can't panic again as I didn't panic the first time, if you turn the media off you wouldn't even know it existed "

oh! So just wait until you see dozens of people falling down dead in the street the way they did in april before you cotton-on to the massive life loss from the deadliest virus the world has ever had to be tested for to see if they have it?!.....tut tut. People like you make me want to wear a mask under my chin(s) .

Do us all a favour and turn on your telly, watch the (100% accurate and factual) news and expert advice. The science of this changes daily....no hourly! And you need to arm yourself with evidence based fact from the news.

New slogan.....get with the programme or get to the gulag....

NO! We shouldn't panic. It's absolute bullshit! How many people do you personally know that's had COVID-19, and out of everyone that you personally know that's had COVID-19, how many of them have died..?

.. The silence is deafening.

LISTEN....i'm sick of you people telling us facts about the death rate and stuff.....listen to the experts like piers (m)organ, andrew castle, james o brien, jeremy vine, andrew marr and that weather girl off gmtv.... if you can't take their word for it then you're screwed.

New slogan....let the experts do your thinking for you because your brain is full of that stuff that you get stuck to the wheel arches of your car.... might be a bit too wordy tho...

Good point. Among all my family, friends, work colleagues and people I chat to on fab, I know of two.

A work colleague's aged parents had the virus and one passed away. They were quite old and in poor health though.

A middle aged lady had to be treated in hospital and recovered without needing ventilation. She says she's still not fully back to normal.

Neither of these was close to where I live.

No need for panic. It will make you anxious etc... Wear face coverings & keep your distance when out in public & only essential travel. Survival of the fittest & basic cop-on will keep you safe. I'm on lock-down since March tbh.

I don't know anyone who's won the lottery. Therefore I can state with absolute certainty that the lottery doesn't exist.

I’m not panicking at all, just going about my usual business. Went shopping tonight though, did by 500 toilet rolls and lots of canned food just in case, oh and 25 tubs of hand gel, 42 bottles of antibacterial soap and a frozen turkey! (Just in case)

People weren't falling down dead in the street in the U.K. The latest daily death rate I read yesterday was 27....more people killed themselves yesterday than died of Covid, Including a 16 year old local person threw themselves under a train. So no I do not think we should be panicking.....I think you watch too much TV and read too many reports...Get a grip.

surrounded by twinkly lights

Sensibly cautious will do, colds and snuffles are starting to fly around schools and we are on the cusp of flu season, trouble is if someone has flu and catches coronavirus and subsequently dies, will that death be recorded as from flu or covid-19?

Media theatre news may strike again with skewed data

Assuming that more people did commit suicide yesterday than died of covid (average is 18 according to a quick Google) do you believe that in a week or two you will be able to make the same claim?

Spain recorded 250 deaths yesterday. They went a number of days with zero deaths a month or so ago. It's not winter and still quite warm there.

In the UK we are following the same pattern.

Hospital admissions due to covid are rising.

My opinion is that those youngsters who have been passing it around are now passing it on to family such as parents and grandparents in situations that don't require masks. I.e. when at home.

Most that needs to be done is predictable and thus intelligent planning is needed instead of pointless panic.

Plan and resource appropriately

Yesterday I heard of situation where someone who had only been in work for three days, temperature tested at the start of each day without issues, was found to have Covid. Because of the nature of the job there is a whole group that worked with him who are now in lockdown for 14 days, as are their families.
