"If an area is locked down and the local response is to leave the area then it's the public that's the problem not the politicians. " This. Cretins.

"It's probably really difficult to stop people travelling, due to the complexity of the transport system and options. I don't know what travel restrictions exist there but without a much bigger staff resource, there's probably insufficient staff to police public travel. It's the public adherence to rules that will generally be nreded, rather than road blocks etc everyone " Sometimes people have to take responsibility for their own selfish careless actions and stop blaming someone else. It's not bhrnham who is spreading this. It's people choosing to ignore crystal clear evidence and guidelines. Sure there are inconsistencies, there always will be, but stay apart, wear a mask, wash surfaces and hands, think about others, reduce the spread. Coronavirus seems to have seen a massive increase in the selfish and the stupid gene. I wonder if any of those taking busses from one place which is locked down due to high community infection rates... Had a thought of.... "our actions have caused our local community to lockdown, let's all take it to another community and get them locked down too".

"Well another master stroke played by the powers that be. Lock down Bolton close the pubs so what do the people do bus out to the next town nearest town without lockdown. Surely it would have been better to contain it locally. But then again when you have bungling Burnham around." How do you figure that's anybodies fault except the people that are doing it? I swear this virus has made people revert back to children that need their hand holding all the time.

"Perhaps transport to outside and inside of the lockdown area should be suspended? " What about people that commute to work or school/college?

"Andy Burnham is a decent bloke " Agreed.. Something ironic about someone who lives in the worst affected place calling others outside that place out.. Perhaps look very much closer to home .

"They’ve got a real problem with people not following the rules in Bolton. Too many ‘nobody is going to tell me what I can and can’t do’ types. " I think it's the same everywhere.

"Bolton is the nearest large town near me so much easier for people to identify the area I live in . As for Burnham what's he accomplished other than increase the rates . Put it on the rates Burnham . Puts a wet finger in the air each morning to see which way the winds blowing and that's the way you'll find him ." Has he gone out personally infecting people?

Your local authority is limited by national restrictions, laws and funding. If you have an axe to grind politically, it's not really about the virus. The UK plan has involved local restrictions in aread deemed at greatest risk. It seems most intelligence to focus on the areas that could become catastrophic for people there, right?

"Folks just don't get it, for lockdown to work you need good will, it may have worked 6 months ago, but now 6 months down the line, with all the bullshit and worst of all matt Hancock trying to shift blame and scapegoat, not a chance There's also zero chance of stopping folks travelling in and out of Bolton, unless you set up road blocks and shut down the train station and buses. " It was the Cummings affair that broke trust with the public, and for that you can blame Boris Johnson.

Blaming Andy Burnham for those who choose to head on out to the pubs of Wigan or wherever is ridiculous. Those at fault are the very people who are doing this. Short of blockading Bolton, all that can be done is to rely on people showing some sense of responsibility.....clearly it's in short supply in Bolton. No wonder cases are still rising if this type of irresponsible behaviour is the norm
