Do you think this is an inevitable picture given what has developed in the last few days?

Secondary schools moving to a two week on, two week off, learning from home/in setting scenario?

I worry the implications of this on working families, especially if you have more than one child in secondary education and their rota’s conflict! "

my daughters aren't doing that. She has half her lessons in college and half at home but is in nearly every day but only for 3 hours each day x

The "guidance" for education has been limited, so different establishments have taken different conclusions from their risk assessments and will apply different conditions to their day-to-day operations.

I would think that a couple of weeks will allow the effectiveness of these different approaches to be analysed and reviewed accordingly.

This ... 312 schools already have infections I think it will boils down to do they have enough staff to open eventually.

In my job we see a lot of teenagers hanging round in large groups at evenings and weekends. Teenagers naturally want to hang out, socialise and party. They are bored and because of the virus they do not have access to a many supervised youth activities. At the end of the day its hard to prevent a teenager who determined to go out to stay at home. This is naturally going to have an effect of infection rates in secondary schools.

My daughters school have been brilliant, each year group is totally isolated from other year groups, staggered break and lunch times, staggered start and end times, separate entrances, school has provided all stationery, on PE days kids arrive and stay in their PE kit all day so no changing rooms, PE is only done outside, masks are worn in all communal areas and kids can wear masks everywhere if they prefer, toilets/door handles/hand rails etc are cleaned every 30 minutes, hand sanitizer stations in all classrooms, corridors, canteens etc, one way stair system, smaller class sizes, social distancing from teachers, I honestly can't fault them.
