Monday new rules come in, some clubs & individuals have been flouting the current rules anyway, this tightening up of the rules is because people have been ridiculous including swingers socialising in clubs, arranging play meets etc.

Those of you who’ve engaged in this behaviour are to blame...

"Apart from pubs and restaurants in Bolton, I believe all other places can continue to stay open so I'm not sure that it will affect the clubs that are sticking to covid 19 legislation and social distancing any more than it would affect pubs and restaurants who are also following the guidelines.

I'm sure the environmental health or public Health organisation, (or whoever is responsible for for the lifestyle venues now operating as pubs), will be able to advise each individual organisation if they have to change or just anything."

It’s not just Bolton, it’s the entire country as of Monday.

Social gatherings of more than six people in England will not be allowed in law from Monday 14 September

The new rule applies to private homes, indoors and outdoors, and places such as bars and cafes

The rule does not apply to schools and workplaces, or weddings, funerals and organised team sports

A full list of exemptions is due to be published before the law changes... which is due to be in parliament tomorrow

People who ignore police could be fined £100 for a 1st offence - doubling with each offence to a maximum of £3,200

Agreed. Truth is that it's down to local and regional councils to enforce what Central government dictates. Those local representative depts and officials are in the position to advise and/or control accordingly. No two businesses are the same, thus it's down to local officials to handle matters.

It does beg the question those engaging, in Covid times, what would be referred to as risky behaviour, have a blatant disregard for there own health and the health of others, makes you wonder how much importance they place on health matters in general and as an example sexual health, maybe spotting these people is a great filter

What are the new rules on socialising?

The new limit of six people will apply to social gatherings from Monday.

It will apply both indoors and outdoors, and to all ages.

So, meeting up socially in private homes, venues like pubs and restaurants, and in outdoor spaces like parks will all be affected.

At present, the rules allow up to 30 people from two households, or six from multiple households, to meet outdoors.

Current guidance says you should only socialise indoors with members of up to two households

So groups of six, so shouldn't effect pubs or restaurants and hopefully in my case gyms.

I would have thought so too.

Only allowing a total of six people in a restaurant or pub would be absurd.

And would also kill their recovery stone dead

apparently we are getting a big covid briefing press conference tomorrow.....

i wonder if they mean "groups of 6" in any restaurant and cafes... rather that 6 occupancy... that would make more sense

in which case... is anything really going to change? are people going to pubs in larger groups then that?

Central

Many countries that have sustained their greater success against the virus still impose restrictions that are greater than the UK ones.

Despite a loud few people wanting everything open, as they proclaim something along the lines that the economy and the many are more important than the vulnerable few. We've got to probably get things restrained again, unless we are comfortable with a winter catastrophe that's possibly worse than spring 2020.

It seems like we didn't grasp that this virus is a serious menace to our lives, to the extent needed to control it. Many people don't want a lockdown again and our leaders plan had a 1 time only financial recovery plan to support us. I'm guessing that we will have to endure longer periods of partial restrictions. It will obviously impact on the economic growth that we had started.

"

The news states:

"Previously, guidance in England allowed gatherings of up to six people from different households - or up to 30 people from two households."

That indicates the change is 'not' about the total amount of people allowed in a venue, but the amount allowed in a single group (gathering) within the venue.

So unless you were having large get togethers of people from 2 House, this is not really going to make a difference to you.

It certainly won't affect any venues.

I havent seen anywhere it limiting the number of people in a pub, as long as it is covid secure. Just you can't mix with more than 6 in a indoor, but pubs and restaurants can remain open.

Its ridiculous really. The only place more than 6 or so are meeting is in the pub or restaurants and then it's packed in there.

I havent set foot in a pub for 6 months, but I've seen loads of pics on my social media of people d*unk dancing hugging in packed bars and clubs. It's a joke if they are serious about stopping it they have to limit people interaction.

I suppose we all think we are right and would run the country differently but I guess we're not in charge. Someone has to make tough decisions

Another exemption or rather two: larger (than 6) households, and a bubble household so single people (ie living alone) still have their support.

i seen loads of pictures of people behaving responsibly too. iv witnessed it 1st hand in my own pub. I'm absolutely sick of the pub trade getting a terrible time from certain parts of the public. i really really dont recall the 'protesters recently get as much of a hard time as the pub are getting at the moment!!

"Not really news .... Doesn’t make any difference to the majority of people unless you have large extended family meet-ups, have actually been out to the pub and dinner tonight as a 6, the largest since lockdown started and this is still allowed

means the people who rescheduled for smaller weddings will have to cancel again

According to the BBC, weddings are exempt and still 30.

We'll know more tomorrow. "

fingers crossed, i know someone who cancelled summer , rescheduled for much reduced size in october, missed out on the hen because of quarantine, would be so sad for them to have to cancel this too ... understandable that the rules can change any time but such a hard time for people to plan life events that were already on the cards before the virus . maybe we will see the return of small weddings planned in just a few weeks with a little meal after or something

"Be interesting to see what happens at the next protests/riots, will BLM be given another a free pass? 'for the cause' "

a) the right to protest was always an exception to the rules which is why protests of both sides were allowed (remember the far right and their protecting statues pish!) as long as it was allowed by the relevant police authorities!

b) the piers corbyn "anti mask" protest was never authorised by the police.. so therefore it was considered an illegal gathering... which is why the organisors were fined!

has been "leaked" the weddings and funerals will still be allowed to be a maximum of 30... that is one of the few social "exceptions".........

"Social gatherings of more than six people in England will not be allowed in law from Monday 14 September

The new rule applies to private homes, indoors and outdoors, and places such as bars and cafes

The rule does not apply to schools and workplaces, or weddings, funerals and organised team sports

A full list of exemptions is due to be published before the law changes... which is due to be in parliament tomorrow

People who ignore police could be fined £100 for a 1st offence - doubling with each offence to a maximum of £3,200"

The last paragraph is laughable “ apologies “

But how many people actually know someone who has had a fine slapped on them for not wearing a mask.

This is why a lot of people don’t take it seriously.

Blimey this virus is so clever its even got a calender now.

I thought the masks was working? Nah masks were always useless so get them off your faces.

All they have been useful for is weakening your own immune system even further as you breath in your own used carbon dioxide which increases your cortasol which weakens immune system making you more at risk of catching any kind of pathogens.

Get those masks off and get down to Trafalgar sqaure on the 19th for the huge protest (peaceful) that is planned for that date.

First off all - after being in various cities over the last 5 day - young and middle aged are not socially distancing

I am seeing groups of young people (mainly) not 2 or 3; going to pubs and bars. Now don’t get me wrong I have met socially with a family that I know and two mates on different days

I am not surprised that they have had to do this. I don’t know how it is going to work with the start of the freshers period at university.

Sweden. No restrictions 5838 Covid deaths.

New Zealand. Full lockdown 24 Covid deaths.

Someone did a very good fact based analysis comparing the economic impact of Covid-19 vs Denmark and Finland (who imposed restrictions) and the difference is noteworthy.

It is a common misconception that restrictions harm the economy. Statistics show that the contries worst hit by Covid-19 have had the most dramatic economic impact.

Why do people also want to hold up Sweden as the example of how it should be done...

It’s only people who live in countries that have dealt with it shockingly that look at Sweden....

Look at how Sweden dealt with it compared to its neighbours Denmark or Norway or Finland or Iceland.....

Oh i know exactly how an immune system works and do you know what everything the media is telling you is exactly what hurts an immune system.

Things bad for immune system-

staying indoors,

lack of sun and fresh air,

Masks,

Using hand sanitizer constantly,

Social distancing,

Bad diet (high processed foods and sugary drinks).

Vaccines

whats good for immune system-

coming into contact with others.

Not hand santatizing hands and work tops every 20 mins (killing important germs and microbes our bodys need to be in contact with).

Not wearing a face mask (beathing in fresh air and not our own bodys carbon dioxide).

Good healthy diets, exercise, zinc, vitamin C high dose.

Numerous doctors have said how useless masks are including a surgeon the other week that wrote a great peice which i pasted on here but the pack arrived and said "oh but that surgeon is anti vaccine so his view on masks is mute"

Dr Rashid bashar another one thats been saying time and time again how useless masks are but both guys are silenced and anything they post gets deleted.

Infact its every doctor, scientist, nurse...any one that says anything against the narrative gets silenced.

Everything you are being told regarding masks, constant hand sanatizing, are great ingrediants to giving you the weakest immune system your body will probably have in your life time and then whilst its at its lowest they are planning on the biggest ever roll out of flu vaccination.

Well goood luck with that when your immune system is at its lowest.

Yeah i can see a 2nd wave coming. The hoslitals are going to be over run with people with bad colds, really bad influenza , and everyones going to be thinking they have covid, the tests will say covid because its all part of the same coronavirus family.

Yup we are fucked.

"Blimey this virus is so clever its even got a calender now.

Go back to school and actually study biology. You clearly have no idea how an immune system works. You are a shining example of why we are having to reimpose further restrictions.

I just hope there isn't another stabbing, shooting or terrorist attack from next week, now that the government have got the police playing at student House party patrol for fines, you need to be blind not to see this is a matt Hancock sinical attack on the new term, the same matt hankock who probably is responsible for more grandma deaths because of the cov+ care home policy, than any house party.... The word scapegoat and distraction comes to mind.....

Considering you’re advertising you’re meeting on your profile have you even restricted yourself I wonder?

And

Well done for copy and pasting a load of stuff. Especially the bits that are nothing to do with Covid measures. Vitamin intake, Sunlight exposure, fresh air, pretty sure people have had as much opportunity to have these as they like. Also, the elevation of CO2 in relation to a mask is absolutely negligible, the Cortisol studies you previously mentioned were done at concentrations at or above 35%, that's not achievable just with a cloth mask.

Have you ever stopped to consider these "medical experts" you are so fond of quoting might be having their drivel removed because it's potentially harmful?

I'm not sure why this would affect clubs, surely if you go in a group fewer than 6 from a maximum of 2 households and remain 2 metres apart from anyone not in your original group, at all times while in the club, then everything will be fine?

That way you can socialise without breaking any guidelines and everyone is fine, unless of course socialising isn't really what you are there for...

"Monday new rules come in, some clubs & individuals have been flouting the current rules anyway, this tightening up of the rules is because people have been ridiculous including swingers socialising in clubs, arranging play meets etc.

Those of you who’ve engaged in this behaviour are to blame..."

Well said. Thanks to all the crazies who just couldn't wait or know what distancing means. Try better this time please and maybe you just might stop spreading it to the vulnerable people

We are sliding back towards full lockdown, step by step. Let’s just hope this step will be enough. We now have an exponential increase in confirmed cases, an exponential increase in deaths will surely follow. The next few weeks are critical, either the virus has become less lethal or the deaths per day will start to double again.

Exactly. The government has two choices:

1) Fund another lockdown which they can't afford.

2) Fudge the figures and tell us lots of people are getting infected but no one is dying so it's OK. In fact it's good.

Makes you think...

Let's not be naive enough to pretend that the British media (Sky, BBC, ITN) haven't been actively lobbying for a second lockdown by means of their relentless, day after day hysteria over confirmed cases.

Almost completely ignoring the key numbers - hospitalizations & deaths.

The covid fearmongering has just moved into top gear.

so.... i am assuming this means this will be last weekend a lot of places are going to be open for a while.... make the most of it!"

Quite inevitable really judging by the news build up!

Why not have a "half wits clap" every Friday to show respect to all those half wits that deny Covid, refuse to wear masks, refuse to social distance, have parties and wear their tin fool hats with pride.

We congratulate them on bring in further restrictions.

Wear a mask and prevent a viral load from entering or leaving my body from not just Covid but many other things. Stops the spread etc. My immune will weaken not over time and I will become more at risk to other things

OR

Don't wear a mask. My immune system stays strong as normal, unless I receive a killer hit of something nasty like covid which will impact on me. Additionally, even if I get a mild dose and recover, I will pass it on to someone less fortunate.

No right or wrong here.

My opinion: What ever we do whether we wear a mask or lockdown the country, or that does is produce a delay. Covid is out there and I may avoid it now, but catch it in 10 years time on a holiday somewhere or some other way. Covid does not count nor does it care. We are all going to become infected at some point. Either we survive or we don't.

As I get older i will be at a greater risk of cancer, heart problems, liver failure, pneumonia etc. Just add C19 to the list.

"I guess clubs be shut from Monday onwards

Booooo! I’m desperate for Chams to reopen!

I'm desperate for a day where no one in the UK dies from the virus."

I cannot see that happening. Think of the flu, it can still be fatal.

"Why not have a "half wits clap" every Friday to show respect to all those half wits that deny Covid, refuse to wear masks, refuse to social distance, have parties and wear their tin fool hats with pride.

We congratulate them on bring in further restrictions.

Bravo people bravo "

This assumes that a nation flat on their backs with Covid-19 are a productive nation. The economic analysis proves otherwise.

The economy needs to recover. I think a lot of people are conflating economy with "I get to do what I want".

Every non essential interaction raises the risk to you, or to someone you encounter. That hasn't changed, and won't change until we drive the cases right down.

To be fair we are sick of all the doom and gloom

Not sure anyone knows how it spreads who's more at risk and what precautions are needed

At start gov told everyone stay at home n masks not needed then they say go out have meals go shopping but masks are needed

No tests at beginning of it all now tests being rolled out so more cases are being identified

Hospital admissions and deaths still remaining low but now gov saying dont mix

Some Dr's saying virus has mutatated and is weaker now others saying its just as strong

People with other serious illnesses are still struggling to get hospital treatment because of fear of second wave hospitals are still keeping wards clear

Figures constantly fudged by government

New laws being introduced by gov which will remain even when no risks are about be a way of them getting furlough money back via fines

Not to mention new taxes that will be bought in at some point

The virus has never stopped people gathering outside even when advised not to

Pubs opened so everyone went to the local

Restraunts offered discounts so we all went for meals

Quarantine on a lot of foreign travel but loads have still enjoyed their hols abroad

People blaming the 20s fir spreading it but what about the risk of people who have traveled abroad only to potentially move it from country to country again

Personally think its something we will have to live with so if people are happy to be told when where n who they can see then that's fine but personally we would rather have our freedom of choices back

Blackpool

The media covid second wave so called experts fearmongers this morning now seem to have latched onto 'wait for the lag' talking point. To get round the low death numbers. Well I'm fairly sure the Southend beach invasion and the BLM riot lags have both well been expired by now, it's a duff talking point.

"I do believe it's Sweden that got it under control the last I heard they have no cases and they didn't put any restrictions on their citizens

Considering you’re advertising you’re meeting on your profile have you even restricted yourself I wonder?

And

And nothing it was an observation if you have chosen not to follow guidelines then your life hasn’t been affected in the same way as others who have.

We I've been very careful of what we do and who we see and by God if any of us felt ill we certainly won't be going out, songs about common Sense and living your life as best you can under these circumstances

"

If you have been playing with people whom you don’t live with you’re part of the reason the infection rates are so high and further restrictions have been put into place. It’s that simple.

"Blimey this virus is so clever its even got a calender now.

Nicely put

This forum is useful for understanding why we in the UK are hopelessly stuck with the virus while other countries have managed to get it under control.

Like Australia, France, USA? "

Purely as a point of interest:

Australia deaths per million of population 31,

France 471,

U.S.A. 586

U.K.612

as at 06.00hrs this morning.

Where have I said we have been playing with people. Please don't assume

We play as a couple in general but does it mean we have been playing does it
