. . . to compare 22.3 in 100 Thousand (current figures) for infections.

Only posting this for a 'perspective' on things - no 'politics' or 'good or bad' drawn from it.

https://youtu.be/BERzYWOLMgQ?t=74

The url is grabbed from about a minute and 56 sec - let it rule for a little bit to see the 'zombies' on a map.

Draw what you will from it.

This translates to roughly 15,342.4 people.

Imagine trying to find every single person that those 15,342 people have come into contact with?

"Oh emperor, my wishes are simple. I only wish for this. Give me one grain of rice for the first square of the chessboard, two grains for the next square, four for the next, eight for the next and so on for all 64 squares, with each square having double the number of grains as the square before"

See exponential growth...

Albert Einstein famously said that compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe.  He said, “Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world.  He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it.”

But if I could have a penny for every time someone compared Covid-19 mortality rates to cancer or malaria.... have none of these people ever seen a computer model of contagion spread?

One guy in Northern Italy. ONE person!!! That's all it took!

Here is a different perspective. We quarantine people coming back from countries who have an INFECTION rate higher than 20:100 000.

The UK has had 65.6 DEATHS per 100 000.

Why? An awful combination of Covid-19 and Dunning-Kruger effect.

Isn't it a pity, we can make a difference if we want to but so many just don't give a flying fuck

Yup. The lives of the vulnerable are in the hands of the reckless.

I've always suspected that a thin veneer of ever decreasing human decency stood between humanity and our base instincts. It only took this virus to bring out the worst in us. It only took a week for us to go from stiff upper lip to clubbing each other with handbags in the toilet roll isle...
