I see it occurred as people left night clubs. I must have missed when the government re-opened night clubs? Will swinging clubs be open again as well then?

Some of the swinging clubs are, but socially or play in bubbles I think.

The language that the police and politicians are using, “be vigilant“ etc suggests that it could be terror related.

"The language that the police and politicians are using, “be vigilant“ etc suggests that it could be terror related."

Sounds more like a gang fight from what I read

"One witness, Cara, told BBC Radio 5 live she thought it was “one group of boys against another group of boys” and that she had heard racial slurs during the incident.

She said: “They were not just having an argument and then fighting, it was straight into fists being thrown. There was not much talking going on.”

The police say there is nothing to suggest it is terrorist related. It wasn't one random stabber, it was two groups fighting

Well spotted. I wonder what the definition on an "old man" is. It's very ageist isn't it to use language like that. The Beeb need to explain.

Many clubs have opened as sit down pubs without a dance floor. I know a guy who runs a night spot in Darwen and that's what they've done. All the tables are socially distanced, table service etc etc. So just because it's called a club doesn't mean it's operating as a club.

I think they mean - 'A hate crime is when someone commits a crime against you because of your disability, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, religion, etc.'

As hateful as knife crime is.

The main suspect is apparently a homeless person - or that is what is being mentioned locally.

Def no "terrorist" links by the conventional meaning of "terrorism"

I agree, people just have to fit into a label or bracket these days, the criminals can't just be a 'bad guy' anymore. Almost trying to excuse their actions.

Very true, some of the old dears at the end of my road smashed up a bus stop because that couldn't go to Doris's funeral. It's definitely lockdown and not just oxygen thieves with knives.

"If clubs did open Tomorrow..

There are already lots of clubs open - all social distanced - all risk assessed - but they can't play loud music - they are supposed to take track & trace - they are supposed to have door security - they are suppossed to be monitored by the local health authority and council.

Birmingham is one such place.

Noticed the tape as I travelled into there this morning. I know someone who was there last night so will be asking how the social distancing worked and if it worked at all.

Or maybe - when loud music is played people shout to be heard over the music and if you shout to be heard over the music, you expel a potential for covid air to those around you. Or you can just make a comment that means nothing with regard to the safety of others.
