"Arrived back from a country on quarantine list, not stopped at passport control, so therefore not registered, do i still quarantine ?" Have some cop on and demonstrate some responsibility and show some respect for everyone else. Amazed you feel the need to ask that question. If people in a similar situation to you choose not to and someone gets Covid as a direct consequence of their actions then they should be prosecuted end of.

I filled out form in my phone but was not asked for it at airport this side I was in Spain. I stayed in a private villa and hardly went out. There were max 15 people on my return flight. Masks worn at all time when in public unless eating or drinking. Much more strict than over here. I’ve taken a test that was negative but I will still stay at home as I’m working from home anyway

"Didn't you fill in the online form before returning to the UK, as should have done? That is the registration, not "being stopped at passport control". And yes, you should quarantine, just as we did when we got back from France." I did the form online but it wasn't checked at the arrival airport. I'm still in quarantine.

"Masks, socials distancing, quarantine, bubbles etc etc etc ALL rely on people not being stupid selfish arseholes and doing the right thing. We don’t enforce as hard as we could possibly should because it is assumed that people aren’t absolute idiots and know to do the right thing. " Ultimately public health is collective responsibility. I wish it weren't so, it's hard.

"How on earth did you get past passport control without having your passport checked. I have never ever come into the UK without having passport checked. Are you special LOL ?" You've really never just walked back into the country? I've come through Dover many many times and the person in the booth sees the passports on your lap and waves you through. Sometimes I don't think they look if you arrive in a British vehicle. I've landed at English airports and been waved through, admitted passports in hand ready. And I landed back in Manchester t2 recently and whilst my passports went to the person, I don't think she opened them and no she never asked for my plf. I can legally travel and do all forms required, but in my personal experience, just holding a passport of the correct colour let's you straight in.

"Arrived back from a country on quarantine list, not stopped at passport control, so therefore not registered, do i still quarantine ?" yes...... the reasoning as to why they don't do checks immediately on entry is that even if they did covid tests at airports you would only catch about 5% of the cases coming into the country.... whereas if the covid test is does 5 days after you come back then it would catch 87% of the cases coming in...... so quarentining for 7/10/14 days should mean that whatever you bring back should hopefully have left your system, or you would be unwell enough to have gotten a test in that time whilst quarentining

Any infection caught could result in isolation, preventing any further infections. We also need to pay people to isolate, as it's unreasonable to assume that people will comply, if they are on zero hours - this holds primarily for the majority of people who are not incoming travellers but just in the UK population.

"The answer is no !, they dont no were i am !!" You were and are supposed to fill in the online passenger locator form 48 hours before arriving in the U.K. Not at passport control And unless you've used a fake passport and credit/debit card then they do have you details thanks to api (advance passenger information)

"The answer is no !, they dont no were i am !!" they do though. As you give your details when you book your ticket. You are meant to fill the form in online before flying back but not before 48 hours before your flight. I'm back off to Sicily in a few weeks and entry has got stricter since I went a few weeks ago. So got quite a bit to fill in x also making sure my weekly test results are the day I go x

Now that would have been a wise move wouldnt it ? Over in spain its masks EVERYWERE, 100 euro on the spot fines , mask police on the beach , the only time you can take it off is when your lying down to sunbathe , oh and before its mentioned i knew fully the rules and fully adhered to these rules and respected them , its the uk thats a laughing stock and the people in it" You don’t see the irony in your statement at all in that you’re now trying to flout the rules? Fairly confident in the knowledge that my chances of getting covid again are 1 in 40million + and knowing I've got paracetamol and calpol, (+ my fairly comprehensive 1st aid kit in my suitcase)
